Part of the learning process is listening - just absorbing how other players interpret a tune. All that music is absorbed into your sub-conscious, and eventually starts showing up in your playing at some level. This is wonderful in everything. Your pace allows me to follow exactly where you are and what you are doing. I am also an advanced beginner, intermediate adult pianist. Your descriptions allow me time to assess your voicings. Any faster and I would be lost. Lyrics also are very helpful to following. Very creative changes there. A software program like Dorico is helpful so you can slowly transcribe the kinds of disoveries you make as you work on reharmonizatioin. I am currently working on Skylark and was inspired by Hiroshi's rendition of it.

Honestly, the most helpful thing from this video was what your left hand was doing when sight reading. Roots, 3rds and 7ths or the extensions when written, with a little bit of voice leading. I always wondered what pianists did for the voicings the first time playing a new tune. Now I know! Thank you 😊
