I feel like I do what the teacher does but yet I'm still slow at remembering, slower then everyone else OR I get confused about the direction even after I've been shown that I'm supposed to be going which is kind of frusterating because its not like I dont pay attention. Is that just a me problem or is anyone else struggle with this?
@lpssugarstar38144 жыл бұрын
emilee Janelle I have that issue sometimes as well, I do the actual movement well, but when it comes to the dance, I always seem to forget. My best tip I can give you is that if your teacher allows it, ask to record your teacher or someone else in your class if you can record them doing the dance, so when you are at home you can quickly clarify any questions. I hope this helped☺️

Contemporary dance fascinates me so much, I'm sad that I can't dance, it's very hard for me, I don't have flexibility, I never did ballet or any other dance, I'm so sad
@quinn68465 жыл бұрын
never too late to start. I started ballet at an older age than normal yet I'm doing great. and u can become flexible if u stretch, I recommend u ask your parents or whatever. I don't know what ur situation is but I do know of people who are in there 40s and just starting to dance
@caramri60895 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean i started contemporary 2 months ago, and since then i am stretching a lot more i am trying to do it every day, because i am not flexible at all. I am watching the videos from alivia d'andrea, the one for middle split and the one for legs flexibility she is really motivated and i am definitely seeing results. And i am 18 and just started go do what you like because if you not you gonna regret it the rest of your life, just go for it. :)

Great tips!! The asking questions and being genuinely engaged and ask questions (even a couple of them in an audition) will help an amateur, pro., student become the best and well rounded dancer they can possibly be. Also helps you stand out as willing to work. It is easy for anyone to close up when they get frustrated. Trust me we have all been there. But if you can take a step back and remember why you auditioned or took a class in the first place you will have good days in the future. Good video!
@donnamarie68405 жыл бұрын
I would also suggest letting the teacher completely finish the combination and wait for them to say, Any questions? My experience is teacher do not like to be interrupted in the middle of demonstrating the routine.

Now we need a video on how to improve for auditions! What to do, how to do it, to get noticed and to stand out. Pleaseeeee 😊 thank you in advance 😘💗 (Because I want to go to the dance academy here in my country and you have to audtion for this so a video on this topic would be super helpful!)

It's amazing how many of these I could relate to. We do fire juggling and whenever we're doing something new, I have a few who just stop and stare. I mean, while I'm next to them and showing them, they're doing it, too. But as soon as I go away they just stop. You make it look easy in class, but they don't see the hours and hours of training behind getting to the point where you make it look easy. I'm so glad I found your channel. I try to incorporate some dancing with my props and your tips really help.

I can pick up contemporary and lyrical easily but when we do hiphop or street... I’ve always been more of a technique and emotion dancer and I love the movements, we do a lot of street too though and when they teach it too fast my brain just says no. When I was younger it took me over a month to get it. Recently I got a street dance and I somehow picked it up in 20 minutes so I guess it’s working

When learning the routine which is best or more common? Do you say the steps in your head (pas de bourree, step , turn) or the steps to an 8 count, or put movement to musical phrases, something else ?

When i was younger, i didnt have budget to enroll in dance classes. So i got to wait if any ofmy friends enrolled with me, which means we would be discounted. And my friends’s complaint about enrolling dance class was that they were worried of being judged, being weird, being laughed at... I was sick of that. Until now, when ive got a bit bigger budget, i just sign up for contemp class on my own. Guess that they just dont have passion for dancing like i do, so they didnt want to step out of comfort zone..

Hi Auti. I’m really good at doing choreo after the class by rewatching the class videos, then it gets in my body and I’m good. But I really struggle learning it at the same speed as the other dancers right off the bat. I do ask for clarification, make sure I can see the teacher clearly, and do it full out already. I only take one teacher though and she breaks it down slowly and with the counts. I find I pick things up faster when the arms/ legs movement are taught together quickly and I dance more to the music/ rhythm than the counts. Do you have any tips for me there other than practicing after with the video. I want to pick it up quickly the first time in class when it’s taught initially but my brain isn’t working with counts and it broken down in a slower speed.
