How to Learn New Content with Anki

Great video! Just have a few questions for you. How long does it take you to make a full set of Anki cards for each lecture? Also, do you have a maximum limit as to how many cards you make for each lecture?

Thanks for watching! I'd say how long it takes me to make Anki cards for a lecture depends on how well I knew the content before and how focused I was during the lecture. If it was a revision of content that I already knew then I'll only make Anki cards on the new concepts, so that might take me an hour or so, but if it was entirely new content and I wasn't fully focused, I'd want to go through the lecture again and also make sure I understand the content first, so it can take a couple of hours. I'd say it's much better to spend longer understanding the information rather than trying to get through all your lectures as soon as possible. There's a difference between getting through your lectures and making Anki cards out of them vs actually understanding the content and making decent cards. I don't set myself a maximum limit, but I'll try to make cards on only the high-yield topics so that the number of cards I make are at a minimum.
