I remember reading somewhere that...Resentment is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Let it go and move forward.

I went through hell in high school. They were horrible and racist, and made me feel terrible about myself. After a few years later, I still held a grudge, and they completely forgot who I was; so I was the one poisoning myself with hate, while they went around clueless. If they don't think about me anymore, why should I? Talk to someone, journal, get those bad feelings out. Get it all out onto paper, and burn those sheets up.

Am I supposed to be salty and upset as a man that my wife is looking to be uplifted? Would anyone honestly say that they are salty because they befriend Jocko on facebook? It's definitely true: the older you get, the less need for drama! 🤓 I turn 39 in July and when I think about the things I made a fuss about in my twenties.... Jesus Christ! Pointless! The past 6 months have been about personal development and I feel at ease with my being and I'm happy and thankful for the life I'm living ✨ Some say life will only start from your 40's, so bring it oooon 😁

We have been socially conditioned to attribute almost magical status to the high school years. All the so-called coming-of-age events such as the big game, prom, homecoming, reunions, etc. I believe this is because of all the Hollywood movies, up to and including those 1980s John Hughes teenage flicks. The truth is, out of a 70 to 80 to 90 year lifespan, we only spend a handful of years around and with these people. It is not special, it is not magical. You were only herded in with them for those few years because of a quirk of age and geography. Your life and the real world is much bigger than that.

I have always struggled with anger , resentments, and unforgiveness. I have been working on it with a therapist and 12 step sponsor, and it is getting better. I was told that resentments only hurt you, not the wrongdoers. I had to write down my resentments and how they affected me to see the damage to motivate me to let go. I also had to write down my part in the resentments so I could see where i was in the wrong, make amends, change behaviors, build my character and reconcile relationships if appropriate. Obviously there are some situations you don't play a part like if you were abused. I really get into psychology and human behavior so I like to understand why people act how they do for example mental illness. It helps to have compassion on them and to wish them well. This is NOT justifying or condoning it just helps to understand, have compassion, and wish them well. Its also not good to get revenge, not only because of consequence but they will get their karma and there will be justice. If it motivates them to change and make anends be happy for them.

I had to remove my entire old friend group I hung out with since elementary up until college because I realized they were or became toxic and they patronized me and put me down and would do the same to other people in a way. It hurt but I removed all of them but it was worth it and from time to time I remember some bad shit but at the end of the day I'm not involved in that anymore and I also remember that I called them out and moved on. Sometimes you think you are all good but are afraid to manage some aspects of your life that matters to you, you aren't fully there yet until you complete all of your problems and that means controlling your environment completely and taking your power instead of giving it away. Truth was that people are complicated and you have to experience them to get a better understanding of how people are different and work. But I would suggest you always tell people straight up and how you feel, for me I decided to be stoic about it and that was a problem.

UNFRIEND THEM. I moved on from high school and it was the best thing I ever did. Your life is bigger than the small social/political world high school holds. Don't get stuck in old potential. Realize you are worth more and can do more. Don't become a super senior who cant let go of the glory day. Or, from what it sounds like, in this case the days of oppression. MOVE ON.

After high school, I joined the Marines and hoped there would be less drama there. Boy was I wrong. Just walk into any Exchange, walk around and listen to different conversations. "Oh Becky said this," "Jim did that," "I heard this about Jennifer," "I saw Ashley do this with that person," blah blah blah blah. High school never ends, even in the fleet units. It is sad that people do not want to let go or even say to someone "Shut up."

1. Don't. The energy required versus the benefits of the outcome are not worth it. 2. Unfriend, leave group, block. You do not need such elements in your life. Be blunt with whom has the privilege to interact with you. 3. No need. You are not obliged to make everybody happy. High school is a very small social bubble. You will encounter more people.

Why is everyone so afraid of inflicting revenge lmao. THer's this "oh let it go" common agreement that's pathetic to be honest. Not Jocko's case, but most people saying that are just cowards. Answer to 1st question: If there's anything you have to say to any or all of them, say it. Insult them, call them out on shit they did, then block them. Nothing bad will happen to you. And you'll be relieved. Oh wait. I just answered everything with that. the other option is block everyone without saying anything or delete your profile and create a new one.
