I have a chain system. It’s an 80w blue and grey from OM Tech and can’t find anything about it.

Chain systems are different to the belt system shown in this video and are much less likely to go out of true. They work like a bicycle chain does, they usually have a "chain connecting link" (Google that for videos on how they work) which might need a special tool to remove, once removed you can adjust the lead screws. Alternatively, you can try using shims to raise and lower parts of the work bed. Also I might suggest have you tried contacting OM Tech? How do you manage to get the belt back around all of the lead screws without accidentally moving one or more of them? This is an ongoing battle that I have with my chinese 60 watt...manual Z.

It can be a bit of a challenge, especially on smaller machines. If I were to face that problem, I’d probably grasp the lead screws with a gloved hand (I usual wear nitriles whilst repairing cutters) or with some mole grips. However as implied, it’s not an issue I’ve faced.

This is very dependent on the cutter. On the machine in the video you press button Z (in the middle of the direction keys) it then shows “Z axis operate” mode, you then use the up and down direction keys. However lots of machines with this controller have separated controls for the work table, and you may need to use a separated/independent set of controls. how do you readjust the tension to the correct amount afterwards?

Tension is mostly guessing, you want it tight enough to hear a low guitar string note essentially so it doesn’t slip or over stretch the belt. Then tighten your tensioner.

With the systems I’ve worked on, I simply apply the maximum amount of tension, which is often just enough and does not over strain the timing belt.
