As a returning player (pre-expansions), the Character Adventure Guide was mindblowing. I put it on the backburner after hitting 70, completed the third set, and then immediately went from 74 to 80 because some of the fourth set was done.

Soul Pastry is a level 80 consumable. So it won't help you to level your character. Great way to level character is to do Tequatl the Sunless world boss. It gives you a lot of experience. But you need to be appropriate level of course. :) Also dungeons like Ascalonian Catacombs can help you to level your character pretty fast.
