That's funny - I just picked up that Gretsch reso this week. I feel like twins learning this song along with this video.. Perfect first song for this little gem - the tone is everything I wanted and more. Nice and loud if you want it to be and it has all of the reso tone you could ask for. This tune is a little easier to catch up with if you have done some banjo pickin and worked on your Mearle Travis licks at all in the past. The rhythm is a hoot. Thanks John.

He says it's open G early in the video. A quick run down of the strings would be helpful It's DGDGBD (heavy thru light strings). I have a tendency to go to DADGAD because of the bluegrass tuning so a refresher helps until it gets ingrained in your head.
