Men criticize women based on ability to perform the task at hand as well as demeanor and ability to work within a team when in a pinch. When interviewed women mostly prefer to be mentored by, work with or under men as the social pressures under mostly women staff can be grueling. We all are observed and critiqued by our peers daily. Men have to prove themselves daily just like women in social settings as well as professional to ensure they keep their jobs and social standing. Saying women get criticized more than men is only an assumption based on feelings painted with an overly broad brush.

Lewis Latimer moved on to inventing the proper railway system.

He would then go on to perfect railcar designs which helped add better restrooms for over rail travel and he worked on an invention of his own. An early working design for an air conditioner. Almost forgot to add he helped Bell with his invention and design for the Telephone. Latimer was instrumental to these technologies acceptance. Bell and Edison were inventors like Latimer but they were not good designers in a sense that they could not simplify the device for an average person to use. Nor were they good at patent legalease. Thanks to him these inventions were heavily improved upon by design which made them safer and easier to use for the average laymen and woman. Due to their working relationship and his in depth knowledge of their work he was able write up legible and understandable patent submissions for them based on his designs. Latimer didn't invent the bulb but he made it more efficient as well as writing a book on Edison's invention and the wonders of what it could change. Latimer didn't invent the phone but he got it off the table and into an easy to use and maintain case that sets on the wall.
