I only have safety matches on hand, so I can't verify whether this works with standard matches. I know that safety matches will not work like this at all. That's the point of safety matches.

Remek Borek Nie fake :). Wystarczy tę zapałkę, którą przykładasz do tych 4 lekko otrzeć kilkukrotnie o draskę tak, aby nie doszło do zapłonu, a jednocześnie, żeby pokryła się ona tym pyłem :). A później to już wiadomo :D.

These matches look like safety matches but they aren't. To light safety matches they have to be stricken against the side of the box that is where red phosphorous is present.
