Hello, did you remove user1 from the sudo group? If yes, then how does it able to use the sudo command (sudo -l) to check for permission?

I did not add them to the sudo group. I added them to the /etc/sudoers file. This does not add them to the group. If you are not part of the sudo group and not in the /etc/sudoers file you will get an error if you run 'sudo -l'.
