Damn boy! You have finally done what has never been done before! You have visually demonstrated "the release"!!! Before today, it's always been a mystery. No one could explain it. And no one could show what it is.... until you did this video. Thank you! This is ground breaking people! Take note!

We are doing it on the top going down right? so on the impact we just need to practice how to square the clubface?

Amazing. Is there a drill for improving this ulnar deviation with trail wrist during impact zone?
@joepresti52877 ай бұрын
Implemented releasing the trail wrist (right handed) on the range yesterday. What an improvement in ball striking and flight along with distance. If I got lazy with the release of my right hand the ball did go straight right with good distance. However, when the trail wrist was released correctly results were awesome! I will continue to practice this move until it becomes natural. Thanks Chuck

Chuck, great stuff. I tried the GOAT bot and was amazed at the reply and exactly what I needed ... how the lead elbow works. This explanation of ulnar deviation helps so much as well. Thanks. David

The GOAT Bot is scaring me with its accuracy so far! I also learned today it apparently knows spanish lol

Very clear explanation. Thank you!!!

One key teaching point left out IMO is how to set yourself up to do this which is with a strong grip it will allow the wrists to have ulnar and radial deviation. Or set up with a weak grip if you want to easily apply extension and flexion. I remember my golf coach kept telling me to push off with my trail foot to start the downswing. Every lesson kept telling me the same thing and I couldn’t get it. What he missed as an instructor is that there are triggers in the golf swing the result in the body doing what you want. Mine was I wasn’t loading my trail glute , hip and lead lat which I figured out from a KZbin video. So back to this video if your grip is a weak grip you may have a lot of trouble with radial and ulnar deviation.

Would love to see a shorty club in your hands to show it square with the correct grip mentioned as a response to other comments.

Hey Chuck - thanks for the video. To make sure I am not misunderstanding, is this wrist action providing the same feeling as the hammer drill or is it slightly different?
@Rotaryswing8 ай бұрын
You're welcome! They are similar but in the swing the wrists are also rotating and unhinging. The hammer drill is a bit of an oversimplification.

Hi Chuck - I see how this ulnar deviation driven release would create a lot of clubhead speed, but I cannot see what squares the face of the club without having a VERY strong grip? This video appears to show your hands moving in a more horizontal plain which is confusing my ability to internalize a feel that I can take away. I would love to see a short video demonstrating how this ulnar deviation driven release creates clubhead speed while squaring the face at impact. PS. I'm a fan of your KZbin channel. Thank you for these videos.

Chuck, I’m a little confused. In recent Goat videos you talk about how little wrist cock the Goats use. In the video above you are advocating big time wrist set and than release the club using radial deviation to start the downswing. Thanks, David
@Rotaryswing8 ай бұрын
Hi David, I'm not "advocating" anything here in regards to how much to set the wrists, I'm just trying to help you feel the angle in which the club releases and having it fully set helps you feel leverage. That being said, wrist cock is typically defined by the angle of the left wrist and forearm and that's what the Hackmotion data I'm showing is measuring. The right wrist can set more when rotated and maintain the deviation in the lead wrist. This is part of what I'm covering in the upcoming video

So just a quick question, do you do this at the start of the down swing immediately or further down in the downswing?
@gerardlongobardi78905 ай бұрын
For this to work, would you not need either a very strong grip of significant body rotation?
@Jayman837 ай бұрын
Is this the feel at impact?
@deohin54477 ай бұрын
I believe the left wrist must rotate back to square at impact. It can't remain flat or face will be open.

It does. Watch the other videos

Cant see this working for me unless simultaneous body rotation timing is perfect otherwise clubface wide open. This is different from what everyone else teaches and also from the rotary release taught prior with the wrists rolling over
