Outside of the joke. Smash 4 Mac honestly wasn't bad. He just had a awful recovery that could be easly abused by his opponent. Smash Ultimate he is actually pretty decent since his recovery got a buff and that you can now air dodge back on to the stage.

Honestly, and I even main mac, he doesn't need a buff. What makes him unique is the fact that he's a very polarized character. On the ground, he has excellent frame data, great kill power, and is completely safe on shield. In the air, he's dead meat. This is how he was designed and if they buffed him, he wouldn't be mac.
