Don't buy property, don't start a business, don't stay in the country for more than 6 months to avoid the tax, don't bring any more money than you need into the country, don't get married and don't trust anyone. Follow all these rules and you will be fine. Ignore them at your own peril.

About tax: even if it seems the enforcement needs some explanations, the rules including rates and exemptions are clear. Preparing my move out of Thailand, which will save me a lot of money. I will be back on tourist visas, which is currently 120 days per year.

If I am not mistaken you can get 100% ownership via BOI promotion. I think it's really difficult to give advice on tax and visa matters. It always ends up depending too much on each individual personal situation.

That's do not generally take credit cards. Except for large hotels, McDonald's, 7/11, etc.

Huh. I'm 2 minutes in and I think he has already said something which is incorrect. He said a foreigner cannot be the largest shareholder in a Thai company. I believe this is incorrect. It's true that a foreigner cannot own more than 49%, but he can still be the largest shareholder. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I, having lived here for 13 years don't know why people want to open business in Thailand, I really just don't see why you would bother, you are not going to, in the most likely of cases make any real money, if you were financially well off you would just take your money and live an awesome life in Thailand
