Brother, I agree with some of the comments below, praise God for this video!! Seriously, it's straight forward and covers the simplest equipment! We do not have a big church, so this is on point for what we are looking into. Also, thank you for only covering what was generally needed, some of this can get overwhelming! God bless you in Christ!

For people asking the question of which audio cable...depending on your mixer: you can use a RCA audio to 3.5mm cable. Elgato also has a chat line cable that can be plugged to your headphone output on mixer (with an adapter) but that will be mono.

Hello thank you so much for this video. We are trying to do a livestream using a Cannon 800D camera. Our problem is if we plug in the HDMI to camera, the camera scream turns off. Is there a way to have a duplicate screen on both camera and laptop

Great tutorial man! Just one question: I have the same canon dslr (Rebel T2i) and would like to know what setting you run it on. Is it on its normal position for taking pictures or is it in video mode? Also, do you have continuous power supply to the camera or does it just run on the battery?

Hello Brother Mike this is Pastor David Mark from India. I have a problem and I think you can help me with this . We have Canon 600D DSLR. And I have mac book air 2017. So I went ahead and ordered the Elgato HD 60 S capture card. I recieved it yesterday . As you said in the video I downloaded everything and Camera got connected to obs but the problem is it keeps saying searching signal every few seconds. It is disconnecting every few seconds automatically and is connecting again automatically and is disconnecting again. What should be the problem? Also please let me know How I can remove that white focus box which appears on face. And in what mode should I put my camera in

Excellent video, John. I have a T2i, too. Did you get it to output continuously for several hours? Was that by using the Live View feature, or by putting it in Movie Mode with the dial on top? Also, you mentioned (in another comment response) that you gave it external power...was that by using an adapter that plugs into the battery compartment? Thanks for any help!!
@Johnmike4 жыл бұрын
There is a setting to keep it from turning off in the menu...and yes I used a battery adapter I got off amazon

Great video. I purchased a elgato capture card and have a nikon d3300. However my Imac is a 2011 and I can't download the obs link because I can't upgrade my mac to latest software. Do I have any other options to get the obs link? Thanks in advance. -Andrew

You're best bet is to get VMware and run Windows 10 within it to run the software. If this is outside your comfort level then you would need to upgrade your iMac or covert it to run Windows 10

Hey Mike, love your tutorials, just have one question. We have a similar setup at our church, but the capture card we have is the elgato HD s+ version which I've read it doesn't require OBS link or NDI to be installed on a mac. DO you know if this is true? thanks

Thanks for your video, John. I had tried ecamm live and it didn't recognize my Elgato capture card. In OBS I am able to see the card but when I select it OBS crashes. Any advice? I'm trying to use a Canon VIXIA HF R500. It could be that the camera is the problem as I don't see it on Elgato's website. www.elgato.com/en/gaming/cam-link/camera-check

If you're using a Windows device make sure you have the Elgato plugged into a USB 3.0 port. The Elgato will NOT work with a USB 2.0 port under any circumstance.

You can set it in settings not to turn off if it’s connected to a power source...I still would press a button on it(that doesn’t effect the view like slightly depressing the shutter button) every 15-20 min

You didn’t specify what usb cable you need in order to use for Mac... is it just a regular usb c to usb c? Bc the capture card came with a usb c to usb 2.0
@l00tur4 жыл бұрын
You're actually incorrect. The Elgato comes with a USB 3.0 cable to connect to a USB 3.0 port. What you mean to reference is dependent on the MacBook/Pro you'll need an additional USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter. Let me be perfectly clear, the Elgato will NOT work with USB 2.0. You need USB 3.0 (or higher) to capture video.
