My mosin has trouble with steel. The old surplus rounds seem to expand in the chamber and makes extracting/ejecting difficult. It's fine with brass and new steel. Just sucks I can't use the surplus.

There are drum magazines like that, but wear and damage make them unreliable. And heavy. That's probably the most reliable drum mag you're ever going to get, and it probably isn't good for a genuinely high fire rate.

That's only 70 rounds. 5 rounds go in the neck of the magazine. You're supposed to back spin like you did, THEN load 5 in the first section, close the drum, wind 2 clicks (which pushes the 5 in the neck), then open and load like you did. 😉
