Why do you close the window? You can keep it open to count the frames and it'll be safe, right?
@eagle1128008 жыл бұрын
+Romanne Walker it is supposed to protect the film a little more. Theoretically if left open in very bright direct sunlight (for long enough time) it could ruin the film.

That makes sense! Thanks! Really helpful video :)

This has been my first medium format camera. The first time I used it, I had the red window open all the time. This caused some film fogging around the edges of each image. Since then I keep the window closed except when loading and advancing the film.

Eagle...regarding both the spool spindles on the the left as you load the camera, do yours actually lock in place? On mine, the film advance knob and spool spindle on the lower right truly lock in. On mine, the film always seems to pop off the spindle on the lower left, very much as yours did when first loading the film. Only mine never seems to ever stay in. Just wondering if on the left yours never truly lock.
@eagle1128008 жыл бұрын
I don't have mine in front of me but the little nobs on the left side of the camera do pop back in and do a decent job of keeping the film in line. They are not exactly easy to use, and require some twisting and finagling to work.

Just loaded mine, I don't have the B version, if you're following this please note that when the red window is open, depending on age, it can be incredibly hard to see the numbers so you have to be very careful. Mine had to sets of sun icons and then the numbers. I didn't clock the first couple, so wasted two frames. So be careful.

does anyone know how many knob turns equals one frame of film? The frame counter on my lubitel is very hard to read. It's nearly impossible. Or any tips on how to fix this?

I know it's been years since you asked the question, but for posterity I will come back with the answer next time I shoot another roll.

the printing on the paper backing seems to have gotten fainter and smaller? Just got a new order of film and I swear it has changed for the worse. Am I crazy?

I have not noticed, but I have sold this camera and most of my medium format cameras just require that I load them to start and they do the rest. I hope not. Maybe they were low on ink that day. That sort of thing happens.

@@eagle112800 You are kidding right, anybody into 120 film will know of the problems that have been plaguing the ink used on the backing paper of 120 film............You seem to review things you know nothing about, stick to digital if I was you.

I just have loaded ektar 100 and forgot to close the red window while shooting ,does light comes in on that window?
@eagle1128004 жыл бұрын
Some. It depends on your particular model. It depends on how bright it was on the day you were shooting and how much lite was hitting that little window. It could cause some red streaks on your film, but maybe not. I have found that the film backing paper is quite good in modern times. I have had the paper backing numbers show up on my images before, but I think that was due to not rolling my film tightly.

It's Ektar 120 film not 100, I didn't read it the packet in the video I just ordered what you said which is the wrong one, great video but that's really annoying
@eagle1128006 жыл бұрын
I think you are ok if you bought the Ektar in a 120 roll. Ektar film is rated at 100 iso, so the film speed is 100. When using a meter or the sunny 16 rule the 100 (iso) matters. Ektar film comes in 35mm, 120 and 4x5” sheets. So for this camera you want 120 roll film, the film speed only matters for metering. You can use any 120 film in this camera, not just ektar, but I like the results with this camera and ektar. I hope this answers your question?

@Dragomir Ronilac should we get the 100 ? or 120
@hingeslevers3 жыл бұрын
@@salmatbaikhi1089 100 is referring to the iso of the film. 120 is referring to the format of the film.
