Me too. I inserted the film the wrong way in the left, then in the right side where it should be loaded after every pic. Now I;m on the third one. Everything looks good until now. :) This is first full mechanical photo camera adventure for me. Good light to you all.

The same? I'm having trouble unloading mines and it's hurting me a lot

This has certainly been helpful, but whether I've got it right or not I guess I'll find out at the end of the roll. With no feedback (like on a digital camera) and no way of having a look it's difficult to know whether you've taken a picture at all. Amazing how in this day and age anything without a battery automatically feels weird and non-functioning. Would love a video on the film speed dial!

@obrip32 Provided it is 35mm, yes. I have heard that sometimes fujifilm tears in zenits because they put quite a bit of pressure on the film when rewinding, but I have never had any problems.

I change the film in my zenit 11 maybe twice a year, so I basically always forget how. Twice I year I’m so grateful for this super simple video haha, Thank you!

@rooooot2 Sure. the numbers 30-500 are the shutter speeds, they are the amount of time the shutter is open for in fraction of a second. So 30 is 1/30 of a second. With B the shutter is open for as long as you hold the button down. The numbers on the left are for te built in light meter, you can find instructions online i'm sure. Be warned though that often over time these light meters lose sensitivity or stop working all together so you might want to use a separate light meter, or just guess.

I have this- what’s those small digits for? Located on left knob used for rewinding..have some numbers there.. any video for that? On the side note- mine a bit hard to shoot because the leather part is right in front of my nose and it smells like an old grand daddy’s sock placed in vault for decades.. any suggestions on how to remove odor from vintage leather? I tried Naptha and isopropyl alcohol - didn’t work.

even if you are developing at home you can open the film cartridge by prying the top off with a juice can opener thingy (in total darkness or a changing bag of course)

thanks for this! if you have the time/energy/know-how, could you do a short descript of shutter speed/aperture settings on this camera? i downloaded a PDF of the manual, but it really is quite confusing and doesn't explain how speed and aperture affect your shots. THANK YOU!

I had an opposite problem to most after turning collar on shutter release it would not go back the way it was before (zenith EM) I put 2 drops sewing machine oil on the shaft of shutter release shaft...and worked the shutter for a bit...think was slight corrosion there but not much so kept wiping shaft with tissue...all okay now....

thank you very much! I spoiled about 4 films trying to learn it, lost great pictures.

While rolling the film back, how do you know, it's rolled the correct way (the little piece of the film going out)? .. My point is, either, I did roll the film too much back in the "box" or I did a not rolled enough and lost a couple of pics because of the opening.

Ouch : ( These old zenits do put a fair amount of pressure on film during the unloading process, I have heard that fujifilm is particularly prone to tearing. Any film that made it inside the can should be ok. If you think it is worth it, contact your developer and explain you situation. They should be able to sort something out.

After you have unloaded the film, what does the film look like? Is it meant to have miniature frames of the pictures you have taken, or is that after you have gotten them developed? Mine just looks the same as a brand new film, so as if the film is unused. Is that normal?

To nieoszczędna forma zakładania filmu.

36 prázdných políček a 36 fotek nikde. Dávejte pozor!

@telecomboring13 жыл бұрын
That is the aperture. It controls how much light gets through the lense, if you look in the lense and adjust it you will see a hole open and close. I suggest you google "photography exposure basics" or something, If you are interested in photography this stuff is useful to know.
