Nice review of the lift table and thank you for showing how a large bike is rolled onto and off the ramp. MI haven't found any other video demonstrates loading and off-loading a harley road king which is important to viewers. Thanks; I enjoyed a full-watch. 🤠 7/22/23

I never would have imagined pushing the bike up onto the ramp by hand. I have never done it that way before. You made it look pretty easy to. I might need to give that a try the next time I put my bike on my ramp.

Very nice. Yours is the first vid I've ever seen showing how one person can safely mount a Harley onto a lift using a clamp style wheel chock. Everyone else just says you can't do it haha! Liked and sub'd.

I tie my bike down the same way in my enclosed but i use a condor Wheel chock and i place the etrack tie downs forward so it pulls it into the chock. Just another ideal for people to think about.

You may cringe on this but for us older folks, with a short garage, and a driveway that is an upslope to the garage pushing a geezer glide on to the lift is a non-starter. Had to make some outriggers and ride on to mine. A PIA, but necessary. Also discovered that some 3M traction tape run up the center is a great aid. Always wear my helmet when mounting. A bit more lax when coming off. Come off with engine off and bike in first, weight on the rear wheel means the clutch let out in gear stops better then front brake while backing down.

I'm a motorcycle mechanic and I've come damn close to losing bikes because of the tires slipping on the paint. it's a real issue. but all the stick on tread stuff come right back off once fluids get on it. even my feet slip and slide sometimes. I have the atv extensions on our tables. so I can ride a bike up on the table and sit on it while backing it off.

@@blue03r6 probably a good point on the fluids removing the friction tape. However for the DIY guy, not using the lift daily, it is managable.

I literally got a motorcycle lift 24 hours ago, where would it be best to secure on the rear if I were getting the front end off the ground? (For a Softail)
@blue03r6
@blue03r6 5 жыл бұрын
I try to find something like the frame or a footpeg to anchor a strap to the table. You will need a jack to place under the frame to lift the front wheel up. The weight on the jack will prevent the bike from rolling but I like to put the bike in gear and load the gears by rotating the rear wheel in reverse. Just my OCD because I don't want it to roll back and off the back of the lift table. You technically could put the bike on the table backwards so the rear wheel is in the vise.

Not to sound like a wise ass, but why buy the harbor Freight lift and spend all that money putting the correct tire trap, I bolt tie downs..... when that extra stuff would cost you what a lift that was air hydraulic would cost?
@blue03r6
@blue03r6 5 жыл бұрын
You have never priced a shop quality lift then. Those cost well over $1000. The HF lift can be bought for $289 and the front wheel vise for $125. It only takes about 30 pumps to raise the table. It's not that bad to manually pump it up. It is effortless to push the lever with your foot. I wouldn't really want to do it every day all day long but for the diy guys it's not worth spending another $800 to 1400 for a shop grade lift. If you plan on working on ATV's then you'd have to buy a shop grade lift to install the extensions.

Lars no one forces you to watch. If your in the USA there is this thing called the 1st Amendment. Don't like it, then your free to move to one of the hundreds of other countries that will regulate what you say and by extension what you think. The 1st and 2nd Amendments are what makes the USA unique.

@@edwardjones8170 team red folks have one card to play "don't like it here? Go somewhere else." Not gonna happen. I will call out racists 24/7, regardless of whether you like it, or not? Join the rest of us in the post-1865 world. The North, aka civilized society, destroyed the racist, upstart CS of A. First Amendment protections do allow you to fly that piece of filth, but it empowers me to call you out on it, likewise. Don't fool yourself about the meaning of that flag. You are either racist, or racist-adjacent if you tolerate it. Namaste (irony intended). P.S. I had gone away from this video, but your comment brought me back to it. Guy seems like a good Joe, except for the racist flag.
