Tuteate I am working on it now, how ever if I want to make it extra wide what do I do. I have followed the process for this size and I have switched colors every 12 inches, so if I want to then add an extra 12 inch row to it how would I join the 2 sides? Have a video on afghans possibly?

On the double wrap arounds on the colored pegs. When it was time to swamp the blues to the pinks and vice versa, I had the hardest time because it was too tight. At the end when you move the bottom to the top, it didn't even look like your colored pegs were doubled. Nevertheless, I'm lost and not even sure I'm doing them correctly. Don't want to waste my time continuing the same thing over and over if I'm unsure; it'll be a mess. i give up.....
@cornnog9 жыл бұрын
xoxkhm3rbabi3xox The reason you double up on the colored pegs is so there is enough slack to stretch them over to the other pegs. You don't keep them doubled when you switch them.
@vailismyname9 жыл бұрын
She wrapped those pegs twice so that there would be enough extra yarn to unravel when it came time to transfer pegs to make sure it wouldn't be too tight.
@lambertdeidre9 жыл бұрын
Hello, your videos so much they are very easy to follow! I am currently making his scarf and I follow all the steps but no matter how tight I wrap and knit here is still a gap where the cable knitting and the regular pegs. When looking at yours I don't see a gap and I was Just wondering if you had any tips to fill the gap? Thank you! :)
@Tuteate9 жыл бұрын
+Deidre Lambert hi! Maybe your yarn is thinner than the one we are using? (we are using a yarn recommended for knitting needles of 6mm - 7mm). Or maybe the gap you see will disappear when you keep knitting and your cables get away from the loom...

I hope no one gets upset at my asking, I'm genuinely curious and don't know the answer, why you would loom knit when it seems so much more labor intensive than "regular" knitting (perhaps "regular" isn't the word I'm looking for... Needles, knitting with needles). Are there things that can be done on the loom that can't be done with needles? I knitted a sweater in less than a week with needles last month, then got half way through a mitten on a loom (which, took days, working a couple of hours at a time), got frustrated with how long it took and how much (to me) extra effort was involved and abandoned it. I ended up unraveling it and doing the project with needles in a couple of days and took the loom right back to the store. What is it that draws people to the loom over knitting with needles?
@michellerynsai260210 жыл бұрын
I know I personally do it with the loom Emilee because it's easier for me. I'm ambidextrous and tend to use my left hand more as my dominate for some things and my right for others, with the loom, you don't have to think about it so much and it's smooth once you find your groove. And actually it is faster, as I'm able to knock a full 72 inch infinity scarf out in about 4 days without any issues. And that's not 4 whole days, that's about 4-5 hours a day max.
@coralaisly10 жыл бұрын
As coincidence would have it, I'm also ambidextrous (though, right leaning), but the loom slows me up majorly. It's awkward in my hands and I end up feeling limited by it. Interesting. *shrug*
@dleavell8810 жыл бұрын
I personally cannot knit with needles so I find the loom easy to use. Also I am a home health nurse and I have a patient that I take care of that used to knit all the time. Until she had a stroke and can no longer use her left side. I came across the loom and introduced her to it. Now she has something she can do that she used to love doing before her stroke. She has become excited about doing activities again. I am helping her to make sweaters for her little dog. So thisvwould be a good reason to use the loom over the needles. It can be adapted to people with disabilities.

I am brand new to loom knitting. I was curious why you wrap every other peg and then opposing begs the next time around. Every source I've seen does every peg.
@Tuteate9 жыл бұрын

Love the channel and your tutorials. This one does leave me a little confused. Once the pegs are marked for the cables and you are wrapping the pegs it states to wrap the marked pegs twice - pull bottom loop over top on all pegs. Doesn't that leave two loops on the marked pegs? When you showed how to cross the loops it only looked like one loop on each peg. Did I miss something? - Sorry for the long question.
@rachelstakes67658 жыл бұрын
+Paul Stokinger Not sure if you still need the answer (It left me confused at first to), but when you take it off the marked pegs to switch them, it will end up as 1 loop, the double rap is to make it long enough to move to the other pegs.

Hi, Would you please tell me what kind of yarn you used in this video (the weight, etc.) Thanks!

+Deborah Rubino hi! Here we used a yarn called Phildar Rapido. Here you will find more details: www.phildar.fr/fil-rapido.r.html

I just have one question after watching and looming at the same time - when you finish the double wrap, and begin to switch blue to violet pegs, aren't you bring two loops over? The video looks like you are left with only one bit logically there should be two since you did a one-over-two on the blue and violet pegs. Just wondering if I am missing something.

Violet Cassandra Ruth Desmarais hi ! Thanks for this question because this is important :) We made 2 loops on those pegs so, when we take off the 2 loops of 1 peg, they become 1 single double long loop. If you try it out you will see that (you aren't missing any step) :)
