I just came here to say thank you!!!! 😭 My hair wasn't so tight as some of the people here. So I'm a guy, and I've gotten faux locs before, but usually my sister does them. My cousin did them this time and they look AMAZING however, she wrapped the SO tight that I haven't been able to sleep well in two nights. I'm gonna go try out this solution and I'll give an update!! after! Thank you for this!! UPDATE: LITERALLY went right to my bathroom, got the supplies tried it, and my scalp now feels Breezy AF!!! ITS AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TIP!!!! Also, I used a small spray bottle, filled it about 3/4 with warm water, added 10 drops of peppermint oil, and 12 drops of tea tree and a squirt of my normal Pattern Beauty Leave in!

UPDATE: IT WORKED ! Prior to update: I actually got my butterfly locs refreshed, cause I don’t know about y’all but I anit spending all that money and take out my braids out 2 months after. Nope! Anyway. I did all that she said but I substituted coconut oil for the peppermint Cas I don’t have that and I anit going to the store cause I need relief now ! Thanks for this!! Just got some butterfly locs 3 days ago and my head is still super sore and my scalp red because they’re sooo tight. I’ve been putting oil in my scalp and taking pain relievers but it still is in pain. I literally can’t even sleep on my head because it hurts so bad I’ve been sleeping on by face. Even though they are still sore after this, my scalp feels refreshed and much less irritated, I can actually move my eyebrows without it pulling at my scalp. I will keep doing this daily until they’re fully loosened. I spent so much money and I want them to stay in long enough to be worth it! I was ready to take them out this weekend if they didn’t loosen up yet but I have a feeling I’ll be able to keep them in for a couple weeks!

I didn't get locks,just normal braids but the hair stylist literally pinched my scalp put in the extended braid and plaited my skin. It was so painful mostly when she finished and I stood up. But this helped alot. Thanks so much. Its hurting again ugh....I'm never going to the salon again

@@HawaBunga yes it is .Although I still can't completely hold up my hair up .I also did a big mistake hours after editing my comment. My scalp hurt so much and I had used your remedy multiple times (The remedy does work because by the time the effect would have ended I think a normal scalp would have healed)so I decided to make my scalp damp using SALTY water .It was very stupid of me but I was blinded by pain. After this I didn't feel pain and slept for some time and was fine in the morning but the next day my scalp was completely dry and simply oil wasn't working so I searched google and found a remedy so it was simply apply a mixture of specific oils ,let it rest and rinse scalp with a little warm water and shampoo. The swelling went down and im slowly adjusting .THANKS FOR ASKiNG !!!

Mine was kind of stiff when I first got them but loosen up quickly after doing this method. Also what helps it’s not using braiding hair for the actual braid. Braid with your natural hair

Not the same brand but I highly recommend using the tea tree and peppermint oil! In the comments, some ppl have said grape seed oil works as well

@@HawaBunga oop it didn’t work sadly I feel like it’s because the braids were way to tight I think even got bumps on my scalp so I had to remove them because I couldn’t sleep or concentrate thank you tho😫.
