Having owned the same midget from new since 1970, Just a couple of points . Firstly the two clips that hold the front bar to the windscreen should be folded flat before the hood is folded on to it. The quarter lights should be folded over onto the main part of the hood, when it is laid flat on the boot lid, at the joint between the clear lights , then the whole should be folded forward over the framework and back under the framework. The hood cover should be clipped along the back rail to start with, then the clips on both sides should be connected , working from the rear to the front. Final the four straps should be fitted to their connectors .

You COULD fold the rear quarter windows UNDER the bigger central rear window. Then the 'poppers' won't be rubbing on the clear window material. I had one for ten years!

You should fold the quarter lights inwards whilst the hood is flat on the boot lid, then fold the hood forwards into the well! This is all clearly explained in the handbook!

You should undo roof front clips first as this eases the release of the exterior corner lugs and stops damage of the roof material around said lugs/poppers..

Not like that. Fold the corners across outside the cockpit not inside. Fold down the line between the windows then roll everything into the cockpit. You never want to put a crease across the window itself.

@mac daddy yes I believe Alfa where the first to do that! It comes down to cost really like with the MGB these cars were far cheaper than there rivals but that ment no high-tech modern (for the 60s) elasticated fabrics or hidden tensioning systems. It is not a bad roof on the mg by any means and with practice can be done reasonably quickly.
