Another good/useful/teaching video. Thanks . A little to how to add noise into plastic lure. You can push into it plastic rattle stick. Hard to find them but there are useful.

Hi Thom, fantastic content as usual. I loved the “indoor football in a power cut analogy”, it makes it very relatable and helps getting in the mindset of fish. I took your advise on a few hrs session this morning, just 4” visibility and ice floating in patches on the furnace. I made a plan at home and made myself stick to it by leaving all my soft plastics at home, and just taking one flambeau box of metals, spinners, vibe baits, ice jigs and nays blade baits. I focused on weighting to get it as low in the water while still maintaining enough speed to get vibration. I had 3 jacks to 62 cm in 90 mins, which I was pretty happy about due to conditions. Thanks for all your advise, here’s a real life example of how your efforts to share really help others. 👍🏻

Hi Thom, getting my way through your videos now and very much learning a lot. In your explanation between tactics for fishing in summer and winter you talk about summer tactics but then don't explain how to fish in the winter. I am going for pike in murky coloured canals right now, temperatre anywhere form 4-8 degrees. Thanks!

If the visibility is less than 6” deffo use a bait that has rattles and vibrations like a good paddle tail or creature bait. And fish slow. For colour black or Chartruese green. A very good trick when it’s cold is do 2 consecutive casts on each line. Eg cast towards the left, then next cast down exactly same line to the left. A lot of bites will be on the second cast. (First one wakes them up!)

Excellent video and very informative, thanks for that! Plenty in there for me to try next time I'm out. I'm not sure you've done a vid on this yet, but a corresponding one covering clear water conditions, lure choices, presentation and colour, would be interesting, as a companion to this vid.

Great stuff always love the videos, keep up the good work 👍. What would be good is a video on river water craft, stuff like perhaps why you could suspect somewhere might have a deep hole and the reasons behind it and just general understanding of rivers and potential seasonal holding spots, hopefully you like my video idea, id very much look forward to watching it. Cheers either way, keep grabbing those trophies.

Fantastic tips mate, last year i desided to try some competition fishing but due to work and pandemic i had to abandon it, any tips on where to start when it comes to comp fishing?
@Thomhuntfishing4 жыл бұрын
Try to start on venues you know well. For example if you fish canals a lot, entering a competition on a reservoir is then very difficult. Do lots of preparation. Practice as much as you can in the weeks before the event and find out which is the best method, colour lure and location etc. Then also ask God for some luck 🙏👌😉

What about lure scents & gels for coloured water Thom, such as Atlas-Mikes etc? I've never used them myself, however I often wonder if they would give me an advantage in coloured water when using soft plastics?
@lionelgray4 жыл бұрын
My best lure colour for fishing coloured water is white with a red head but wondering if it would be beneficial to use an indelible marker to put a black line down the back of the lure so getting a better contrast. Do you "add" colours to lures Thom or just use them as they come out of the packet?
@Thomhuntfishing4 жыл бұрын
I have experimented in the past but to be honest Westin have such an excellent colour selection within their lures (plus every year bring out ‘special editions’) that I don’t mess with them much any more. Having said that, I like your idea and that’s one of the great things about lures that you can play around and adjust them so if you think of an idea.... do it! Every time you try something new you will learn something 👍🏻
@lionelgray4 жыл бұрын
@@Thomhuntfishing Many thanks for that Thom. I'll do some experimenting and see if it makes a difference. Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. 👍
