At first I felt Vital sounded very flat... It almost had like a plastic sound to it when I put it side by side with Serum. However, once I started opening up Vital and really getting crazy with tons of LFO's filtering, randomization, and just endless ideas I began to see why Vital was going to be another key synth in my arsenal. And it is FREE?!?!?!?! I did rent to own for Serum for at the time it just made sense, but I will take FREE any day and now my sound design sessions are just blowing up every time I play with it!

Hi, thanks for this tutorial. I don't quite understand how you crunch the sub and the top noise together though. Do you just need to make them play together while compressing them?
@xion55143 жыл бұрын
Im trying to recreate the patch that you showed for the CHARACTER and I just cannot get it to sound right. I got the crunch layer and sub sounding just like yours, but the character layer sounds super weird on my end! All parameters are nearly identical to the ones you showed, even playing the same not, but I couldnt see everything in the patch. Even so, I cant even get my first oscillator to sound like yours even with all the processing!
@Letsynthesize3 жыл бұрын
It’s a tricky one because of the three part fm chain. The same with me: just a tiny difference on the fm controller knobs and the sound turns to a totally different one. So the point here is to give you a quick start and some nice ideas but copying a preset 100% accurately is very hard. Let me direct you to my Patreon where the full ableton project file will be available in a few hours when I get home.
@JC-yy5nf3 жыл бұрын
@@Letsynthesize you also didn't show your LFO on that patch. You only showed one envelope's path to modulate the FM on OSC2 but you didn't show any other path. There is no way anyone can follow the tutorial.. I know we can't recreate exactly the sound, but having a better idea of what to do would help immensely.

so I am brand new to music production (got my first daw 3 days ago) really want to start learning how to make tear-out and riddim. I clicked your link and seen the $16 a month with a discord, is there any one on one teachings or help? or is it mostly just access to information, and would there be classes? also I use the Reaper DAW are your teaching for specific DAW's or any works?
@Letsynthesize2 жыл бұрын
Well the discord tier is just being around like minded people to share stuff, talk about production etc. It’s cool if you want to nerd talk. No one-on-ones included there. Have you seen my academy though? There is a Virtual Riot style riddim course there, tearout masterclass, and other cool dubstep classes. They are start to finish classes, I think those could be beneficial.

@@Letsynthesize watched this one more then once, i know cause i was here 5 months ago and ive watched it many times, cause one big problem with this video is you dont explain how it was made you just show it and im like but wtf am i do do to make this (not to mention all the Effects you still have turned on in ableton) like i just want to know how to make the bass in vital cause im not using Ableton, im using FL so my layout for one is different and two i dont have the same effects, but if knew how to make the base of the bass id be use the base and but my own effect on to figure it out, i ended saying fuck it, again cause this is impossible to figure out, i just went off and turned on some doom eternal music but the vol low and when to work without help to make a bass, got the sound i wanted any how. every good how to ive watch shows you what it sound like in the vst and then remakes it from scratch, shit even the meme how to video do that, ive only ever had issues with tut like this where it like well here what i looks like, and explains very little on how to make.

@@OfficialNo44 okay so let me tell you how I think, and why I do what I do: I share a perspective, a unique point of view in making stuff, not holding your hand and guide you through on particular sound. So you have the vision, the know how, the view of structure and you can implement it in your own idea. I don’t want to build up a song from scratch because: - that would too long (nobody wants to watch long KZbin videos) - could not be educational because of length - it would be hella time consuming to edit etc… So that’s why I just talk about a sound and not build it up from scratch. I don’t want guys to copy “my sound” but want to push everyone to be inspired by new stuff and make something cool by their own.
@OfficialNo442 жыл бұрын
@@Letsynthesize not asking you to make a full song im just saying explain how you made the bass from sctrach, not the full song, for some reason your going off thing about making building a song from scratch never said that, and saying that "nobody wants to watch long youtubes video (lol my ass) i have two videos in my tabs rn one is a 4-5 hour long video on some how is making a song from scratch and guess what 6k people have watch it and thats the build up and the Drop only, so saying people arent into long form content is horse shit for one, and two yes people do like it. but back to what i was saying is just take Vital, and make a video of you making the preset from scratch (which normal how to videos DO say for the meme videos (even those tell you want to do)) no effects, no added sub work, no extra shit, just the how you made the fucking preset, not a full new song.
