I tried poly gel for the first time yesterday and my goodness does everyone make using dual forms look so easy , I found it soooo difficult. I then gave up and did a few sample Swatch sticks of some some colour gel pots. When I finished I decided I would do it with a paper form and it worked waaaay easier than the dual form. My technique however was very bad so I am definitely going to try this method . Love your videos , only subscribed this week and I'm obsessed x

beautiful! I appreciate your technique of adding the polygel in two parts (the tip then the nail bed). I'm going to try that on my next application

this is the BEST tutorial for poly gel that I have ever seen. Being new to poly gel, I watched many many tutorials about dual forms, tips and no one ever explained that two step process you just did. My first set of dual forms was a mess, but I kept trying until they looked good enough to wear...lol. Then I wanted to try half forms with poly gel and came across your video. I was very impressed!!! you did an amazing job. So I am taking off the mess of tips I made and about to try your method. I'm excited. I will def subscribe and I'll come back to let you know how I did. Thanks again.

I just ordered some free forms. I got a polygel kit that came with dual forms... It was sooo hard to tell how much was there and if it was even. Ive never done my own nails except a failed attempt at acrylic. I think the free forms give you more control over how it comes out. My sides came out to thin and underneath is too thick.. I even tried to thin them out once I placed the dual form on my nail.

I’m here after a miserably ugly attempt at doing my own polygel with dual forms. Looks like paper sculpts give you more ease of forming a natural cuticle line as well as the thickness, which were both areas I struggled with. Thank you for the tutorial, #isabelmaynails!

If you had gone in with the white buffer after your filing, you would’ve been able to buff them to a beautiful glossy, smooth shine that removes the little scratches, then add your topcoat. Loved the shape you did

Just to be clear, you dehydrated but didn’t use a primer? Also, did you wipe the sticky layer off of the base gel? There is so much controversy over that. I know the base gel is used for adhesion, but some say it can be too sticky and the Polygel won’t stick as well. 🙉🤷♀️

@ExplodingElephants663 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. The glue used to apply the tips breaks down a lot faster than gel does. Using forms, done correctly can last quite a long time, but using tips can help you get a consistent shape on all the nails.
