How do you take cuttings from this tree please? I've got a large one I've not cut as I am new to bonsai, but it has new growth that could be used to make new little trees. I just don't know how to do that! I really hope that you can help me. I've just bought a new smaller tree which I love already and thanks again for your advice on being able to cut it to get the desired shape. Very best wishes from Liz in the UK xxx

I trimmed a green shoot and put it in my gecko terrarium. The wood with bark cuttings havent rooted but grow new shoots. The green wood cuttings one has rooted the other has started one died. So 2 of 2 no roots yet on hard wood. 2 of 3 rooted softewood. Pretty good odds for no rooting powder.

I have a 4 inch buddhist pine. I did not realize I was buying a plant that can potentially grow to 6 feet tall. what should I start doing now to stunt the plants growth and shaping the plant?

Bonsai isnt stunting. Its trimming. Cutting. Pruning.
