Thank you so much. No awful music, no talking about other things, good camera angle, good repetition of the procedure, NO SPEEDED UP video.👍🏾🙂

Excellent! You got right to the point, explained clearly and simply, showed the process twice, and were done. I wish all tutorial videos were this well-made. Usually they are far too long, with too much talking leading up to the actual skill that’s being demonstrated, or so fast you have to replay them 10 times to see what is happening. This one is perfect.

Thank you so much. You saved my sanity. I thought M1 meant increase on a stitch and this knocked my pattern totally out and increased my stitch count by the same number of M1’s. It’s so clear and so well explained. Thanks so much.

When making a blanket and it calls for m1, does it matter if it’s m1 right or m1 left? Some people doing an m1right pick up From front with left needle, slip it onto left needle back to front then knit into back, but you picked up front with left then knitted into back. It looks like it doesn’t matter as long as you knit into the back??? Is that right?

Bless you... can you please explain what you do with a "K0" or a "P0" stitch in cable knit pattern (not graph or chart)? Do you slip it, Drop it? Knit two together? I mean something has to be done with it surely, it cant just be left on the needle? There are no video's on here explaining this complicated process in printed commercial patterns". Thank you for any help on this.

So I'm reading a pattern which looks like this CO 2 sts Row 1: knit Row 2: k1, m1-3sts Row 3: k1,m1,k1-4sts So my question is, what do I do with the stitch that is remaining on my left needle after row 2? Am I just supposed to knit it? I'm confused. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

All the M1 videos seem to be in stockinette stitch, I haven't found on for garter st :(
@historianKelly6 жыл бұрын
seraphinalea It doesn't matter what pattern you're making - the only thing that matters is whether you're making a knit stitch or a purl stitch. If you see M1 in a pattern, you're making knit stitches. If you're working in the Garter stitch, you're making only knit stitches. So this is all that matters. All patterns are going to give instructions for either knit stitches or purl stitches, and the entirety of the pattern is then your pattern stitch.

Why don't you pick up the 'bar" with the left needle? Then it would be in the right position for knitting with the right-hand needle?
@charityheikes25936 жыл бұрын
It's part of the magic of M1L or M1R, when picking up the bar we have to literally knit it from the direction that feels wrong. Watch other tutorials, they say if it feels wrong you're doing it right. ;)
@historianKelly6 жыл бұрын
Less chance of 1) picking up the bar going in the wrong direction, or twisting it, which is actually easy to do, and 2) stitches slipping off your left needle, or either needle, as you dip down to catch that bar. While I understand it looks like wasted movement, when you're actually knitting, it makes more sense.

Why not just pick it up with the left needle? Picking it up o the right and transferring to the left just seems like wasted steps as well as wasted time since it will end up in the same position.
@Bearmac69 Жыл бұрын
Why do this, why not just increase one, why do you need to do this
