Thank you Brian. I'm just getting started on an acreage and have been thinking about farm gate sales as well as bees, very interesting to learn more

Where did you get that egg fridge? And the shelves are great!!
@Innisfilcreekhoney6 ай бұрын
Egg fridge came from a restaurant supply store. The shelves we made. All those angle cuts are a bit of a pain, but it does look cool. Thanks!

What state are you in? Selling of chicken and beef is not allowed in most states. Not legally anyway.

How did you figure out that this farm stand was to thrive? Just trying to figure out if people will stop by where I am, 1 mile off of the highway
@Innisfilcreekhoney Жыл бұрын
You have to look at the amount of traffic on your road. If no one ever drives by then. No one's going to see your stand. Thus it's not going to do well. If enough traffic drives by then you'll make money. You have to sort of judge your location

How do you keep it open in the winter? Wouldn’t the eggs, honey and maple syrup freeze? Is the shed heated?
@Innisfilcreekhoney3 жыл бұрын
Our self serve honey house is heated. If you are going to offer items for sale in the colder months you have to think of things like heat and lights.

I have been looking for local honey. You tube recommended your video. I went on your website and it said you were closed Sunday-Wednesday. On here you said self serve is open 24/7. If I wanted to come Wednesday after dropping my child off at school, you will be open?
@Innisfilcreekhoney3 жыл бұрын
The Self Serve Honey Shop is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Stop by any time you want, just bring cash. The Beekeeping Supply Shop is on Winter Hours. They are 2 different places.

i bake and make other items plus we grow our own vegetables etc. We live on the highway in northern Ontario. What are the rules for doing this at our home ? ie. health unit etc
@Innisfilcreekhoney2 жыл бұрын
Generally if it is Farm Gate sales it is okay and there is no need for permits nor health unit inspections. There is usaually a grey area that allows for "Farmers" to make and sell things from their "Farm" without the need of a food safe inspection. See "Farmers" are poor and do not know about things like licenses. (wink, wink). I am a big believer that it easier to as for forgiveness than ask for permission. Seriuosly though, you would have to check your local regulations.

This would never work in tha H00d! Those pe0le would steal every thing in the honey shack, and then burn it down. That is just who those “pe0le" are!
