This video picks up on the tea party theme I started several months ago with my now popular 3-D teacup cookie video. We all know that no tea set is complete without a sugar bowl, so that’s what we’re going to make today! Along the way, you’ll get exposed to more cookie baking and decorating techniques than you can count, including contouring and embossing dough; dipping; outlining and flooding; spraying and sponging; royal icing transfers; piping details; rose-making; and 3-D assembly. Total of 14 cookies for one (5 x 6-inch) sugar bowl:
2 (3 1/2-inch-diameter) hemispheres, for body (4 3/4-inch rounds shaped over 3 ½-inch-diameter cake pans)
6 (1 x 1 3/4-inch) molded and contoured diamonds, for seam (molded with First Impressions Medallion Set 1 mold)
1 (2 7/8-inch) embossed and contoured round, for lid (2 7/8-inch embossed round shaped over 3 ½- to 4-inch-diameter cake pan; embossed with SugarVeil Brooches mat)
1 (1 5/8-inch) molded and contoured round, for base (1 5/8-inch embossed round shaped over 2 7/8-inch-diameter silicone hemisphere mold; embossed with First Impressions Medallion Set 1 mold)
1 (2 1/2-inch) plain round or plaque, for base
1 (1 x 1 3/4- to 2-inch) "frankencookied" plaque, for top handle
2 (7/8 x 1-inch) molded arcs, for side handles (molded with Wilton Baroque mold)
