How to make 5 volt power supply using LM7805 with TIP3055, Can 5 Volt 5 Ampere. ( 12v to 5v converter using lm7805 )
This circuit can provide 30V, and 5A DC as maximum INPUT. Out put voltge is 5V. This is a very good Circuit and you can apply a mobile phone battery charger. But use a large heat sink. good luck to you.diy 5v.
Components used in this project:-
1. TIP3055 Transistor
2. LM7805
3. 1N4007 Diode
4. 10uf 50v Cap
5. 1000uf 25v Cap

Would benefit from correctly identifying the diode instead of + and - which is incorrect. Otherwise I would also add smaller snubber capacitors (10nf to 100nf) across regulator input and output. Don't forget your heatsink paste and gauge the heatsink size for the power dissipated - ie. 12 volts in, 5 volts out at amps - 7 volts drop x 4 amps = 28 Watts. That heatsink is TOO small unless supported by a fan!
