Finally someone who actually understand a little more xD Thou this is not 3D, This is 2D, you have to move yourself or move the tablet to be able to get 3D (when still you only see height and width, you can not see depth)

Yes, correct - this is the closest thing we can get to a 3D hologram "effect" at the consumer level ... for now. But it's definitely just a 2D projection that looks more 3D if you view from multiple angles. Still very cool though.

But what good is this work if it only shows one side and the moving image? 3D hologram is a static image and the camera that turns to show the 4 sides, otherwise it's just a video projection, stupids!

Have been eager to produce my own pyramid hologram videos to use for Halloween! Laid my 40" TV on it's back once and had dancing anime and hulk images in the Frankenstein's Monster lab in our garage one year! I plan to incorporate this in to a spaceship that we're building for this year's Halloween decor...Alien-Steve, etc! Thanks for the great information and I look forward to putting it in action!

If we make 4 time lines and 3 cameras at 120 degree separation then create separately or together then separate in time line delay in refresher rates then we use pyramid glass cover projection. But advance way is electrodynamic for light polarization and sound surround

Since: 1. A stared at negative reverts afterwards in ones vison. 2. By taking two off centered pics, making a stereogram. 3. a group gained same amount as muscle by intensely imagining it as the group that did the work. 4. Therefore Make the pic of your ideal image of yourself, crop it, make a negative stereogram of it. 5. By staring at a negative stereogram, when one closes their eyes in the dark, a true colored 3D image of themselves appears inside of their heads.

If one could project a powerful enough foursquare film then 1. You wouldnt need to increase the origin size which is expensive. 2. The pyramid and hense, the hologram could be a lot bigger. 3. Id like to see diff glass thickness sizes Vs thin Vs both sizes of two way.. 4. Has to be a simple other framework of mirrors to amplyfy and enlarge so a tiny phone can end up makin a lifesiize, high quality person.

can you use this as a computer display for 3D drafting like Tony Stark of Iron Man
@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 6 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you'll get the quality you're looking for when doing drafting. You can always try, but I would probably get a more traditional monitor for something like that. Companies are starting to do drafting in VR though, so that's probably something to look forward to and try out in the future.

Thank you for acknowledging that this IS NOT A REAL HOLOGRAM, but merely a reflection, and a flat one, at that.
@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's definitely not - but one of the closest / easiest ways we can get a small taste of what sort of looks like it at the mass market level so we can start imagining the possibilities. Can't wait for the real thing to be broadly available!
@johngajdos8392
@johngajdos8392 7 жыл бұрын
Actually, I have a better idea, but it would only show one still image. However it actually would be in 3D. The image you get from reflecting a flat TV screen will only give you a flat reflection, but if you use a real object, like a white knight from a chess set (actually need four of them) they could be reflected with black backgrounds, from all four positions, and then you will actually have a 3D reflection, just like looking in a mirror. After all, it is the slight difference between your eyes that allow you to see 3D and so a real object will show up that way.

There’s an easier way people: Go to instagram’s camera. Now take a black picture (you can take it using black leggings.) After that, click the face icon (first one on the upper right hand side) Now, click the camera icon (second column in the middle) Now take 4 pictures of yourself (try to make them as identical as possible) Arrange it like how this video shows you (one normal on the top, 2 sides and one upside down) After that try it with your diy plastic thing, and when you’re satisfied simply click save on the bottom left corner. THERE YOU GO! Btw it works with GIFs also.
@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 6 жыл бұрын
Good idea, thanks, Audrey! The only thing is that if you want your face to blend with the black background, it is helpful to follow the additional steps in the video. HOwever, I love that you point out that it also works with simple pictures too (and sometimes, that's all people need anyway).

@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 8 жыл бұрын
Hi RG Ogden Jr. - glad that you're getting inspired to play more with the video options! PPT 2010 onward is great with video. You can check out a cool video-related tutorial of mine here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4W7eHp7gsmje5I For a landscape, this could potentially work, but it works best with objects that are isolated in black - so one single mountain would be good - but a continuous landscape painting would not look ideal. Definitely experiment though - this is a pretty addictive trick!

Hi Veronica - glad you're thinking about trying this out! I got mine on Amazon and it was for a tablet, so it was larger than the ones for the phone. I couldn't find the exact link (maybe that company is out of business) but if you search for one designed for a tablet, you'll get the size that I used here.

You always come up with something great. I'm wondering if you used 4 cams (or iphones) you could put the front, 2 sides and the back at the x. Then, if you had it up on a stand, people could walk around it and it would be kind of like 3D??? I don't know if that would actually work or not, but I was just thinking...

Great to hear from you, and yes, this would definitely work and look very cool. The only thing I'd say is that if you're just doing a talking head like I did in this video, you could get away with just filming it 4 times from different angles with the same phone/camera. You'd then mute 3 of the sides - and no one will really know the difference. If you are doing something like a dancing video with very complicated moves, then 4 cameras would indeed be very useful. Love the creativity!

Hi, great video! but if you only use one face, you don't need 4 panels on the pyramid, am i right? So basically just a reflecting surface will do?

Hii...absolutely amazing technique. Excellent work. Just want to know 1. Dark black background is necessary ? 2. What if I want to use this in my outdoor day time events for displaying logo or company video ? Will it work ? 3. Can you suggest tablet which has this version of ppt. Thanks
@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Swati - glad you enjoyed! 1 - Dark background just makes anything in the foreground appear to "float" - if I had not had a black background, it would look more like a projected TV screen (rectangle) which takes away from the effect. 2 - Outdoor is not a good idea for it to work well (just like any other projector). YOu could, however, house this inside of some kind of box or housing to provide the necessary darkness for contrast. 3 - If you are making this in PowerPOint or a video editor, you can make it on any device. Once you export to a video (like I suggest in my tutorial), you can upload to KZbin and load from any device. For reference, I have an HP Spectre 360 - so in this video, I just folded down the keyboard so it looks like a tablet. Hope that helps!

Hi Toshika - thank you so much - I'm glad you liked it and found it useful :). I am using PPT 365 (the very latest version right now - the subscription model) but this can really be done with any version of PowerPoint that supports video - so 2010 onward.

You just need to use a program, like Xsplit, and create a scene in which you have 4 views of your source like in the video. Your source can be whatever: webcam, a program you're using, or whatever's on your screen. You can crop the source and play with the settings a bit. It's pretty easy. I have Xsplit and it took me just about 5min to figure out how to do it and do it. Now if I had a transparent pyramid to go with it...

@powerpointspice
@powerpointspice 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph - that's odd. Shouldn't do that. I'd make sure that you have the audio all the way up on your video file (though that's the default so isn't usually an issue). Worst case, you can export the video in PowerPoint, then line up the sound to the video again using a video editor.
