How to make a backyard Zipline from Slackers | Part 2 | Building Platform

Kids are driving me crazy this long summer break. In the quest to get them out to of the house, I decided to make them a zipline course!! Due to the length of my setup I had to deviate from the kit and bring some my own items to the table. Hope the video helps you out if needed and gets your kids out of the house.....My kids love it and it's also fun for us Dad's that need an excuse to act like a kids from time to time.

It's a Dewalt Atomic Circular Saw. One of the best tools I've bought. Nice, light and cuts everything.

Great video! I'm following your same design and just finished the the 2x6 for the flooring. However it still shakes some especially closer to the edge. I didn't know if it was because the 4x4 are just sitting in the concrete deck block. The height from the top concrete block to the the bottom of the flooring is around 8ft. What else can I do to help this issue?

To add stability.... I used the tree and the gussets (angle braces) really tied it together.

I know people like using screws but you should Use nails for that because screws Have no shear strength. Nails do. Hopefully it will stay together for ya. I’d still go back and add nails to those treads.

Don't know your source for "screws Have no shear strength". Don't believe it. See for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p57Em357odOqnKc or various tables of screw shear strength. For equal barrel dimension, screw shear is superior to nail.

No that was a friend of ours that I borrowed before I even had mine..... remember part 2 was stolen from me and was extremely delayed being produced. In that time frame I bought my trailer and converted it.
