Fantastic work Alex!! I definitely learned very quick how fast that tip can overheat! I can’t imagine the time invested however, it shows and they look great!!😊👊

Jedidiah Shultz Irish Craftsman Thank you very much Jed! Yes at times I had to ask myself if it was worth it as I could have made three videos in that time, but in the end I like to finish what I start. 😀

Alex 2Q you’re very welcome and absolutely! Everything is a learning experience even in patience 😁

With the thinner steel, I find a single bevel, chisel grind edge works well. Take your arrow’s rotation into consideration when choosing which edge to grind.

Very useful video mate. The nut on your clamp is vibrating loose as you use angle grinder hey. I suggest nylock or second nut

Great video. Inspirational. How would you have transferred the arrowhead shape to the metal differently?
@LetsPrepTogether6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Gil! I think next time I would make a sample from aluminum and use that to properly trace the outlines on dye cam.
@delljohnson1726 жыл бұрын
Id use the saw teeth points as my arrow head points might need a slight angle adjustment or not. You could curve the side about half the length of point back in making a nice slight curve.

Thanks that's a cool idea

Is there other cheap material to make arrow head, also easy to make without power tools!
@LetsPrepTogether6 жыл бұрын
It really depends, since the blades are not used daily you can use pretty much any hard and stiff material. That would then allow you to omit the power tools.

Awesome work! How long did all those arrowheads take to cut out and profile?
@LetsPrepTogether6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! At least for the rough shaping I had the process down to under three minutes per arrowhead. The entire project took several weeks as I had to work on it few hours at a time.

When using your grinder the side that has the brand name or logo is the side is suppose to face you. Basically what I'm saying is you have yours on backwards
@LetsPrepTogether4 жыл бұрын
Not quite sure what you're referring to?! The small belt sander has one of my stickers on and as for the remaining tools I'm confident that I used them safely and effectively.
@your0a0asshole3 жыл бұрын
WELL VERY SKILLFUL HARD WORK. I'd just use soft steel,....and you only have to sharpen 2 edges not 4. And a chisel point is more durable. Look at grizzly broadheads to see what I mean. Soft steel is heavier than light carbon steel. The point is it only has to be sharp when you fire it at a deer. I shoot wood arrows in compound bows,...old 80's bows with a round wheel cams.

NEXT TIME ... REMOVE RUST WITH 1/4c BORAX AND AN automotive BATTERY CHARGER. Electrolysis. A sacrificial chunk of steel or iron is required. ELECTROLISIS IS NON-DESTRUCTIVE. RESEARCH ALSO: SUPERTINNING AND ELECTROPLATING. VERY EASY DIY. LEARN SAFETY FIRST !!
@LetsPrepTogether6 жыл бұрын
Material removal with a wire brush is minimal. All safety measures necessary were taken. Also research: writing in all caps is perceived as shouting and even if you offer sound advise people will see it negatively.

You wasted saw because you can make sword from this saw. I made arrow heads from bullets of ak47

Hm how thick was the steel stock? The saw i used here was only 1.2mm thick which would be too thin for any longer blade
