Also I put spacer beads in between the designed beads so they didn't just always go to the bottom and they were spaced out rather than all bunched together other than the girth strap and the beads I love your design

g'day Brandi, you could join two colours at the beginning, and when you split the weave have one colour on one side and the other colour on the other side. all the best with it.

I would like to make a tripper collar which is wider like 4” wide. I can’t figure out how to add the extra strands for the 4” width!? I also noticed you said use a softer cord . I may use mohair! Can you clear up the measurement please? So if I want a solid tripper collar about 3’ long (no ring in the middle ) how much footage per strand ? Thank you so much?

g'day paula, sorry i have never made anything that wide, you would have to experiment with a short section to see how much cord would be needed to get the width you want, then calculate your cord to match how long you want it to be. whenever i make a new project that is the process i use - make a few inches, see how much cord i used, then multiply that section by total length needed. so if i want a 20 inch collar, i times my 5 inch practice section by 4 since 5x4=20. no quick fix answer sorry.

I think the strap going down to the girth is too thin of I weave I used a 6 strand braid (like when you braid your hair) and it is not as stiff and is wider

Yes it is thinner and wider try using the cobra braid like she does also try braids by Brette she has a tutorial on reins use the flat part she does for the strap

you could. but you should not use paracord, maybe use a soft cotton. there is a lot of pressure on a girth/cinch, and paracord is quite harsh on a horse. Let's know how you go with it! All the best.

hi kemuel, depends how much your paracord costs. I used around 100feet of cord, plus the beads and rings and clips. i'd guess it cost around $30 Australian.

hi Emma, my chestnut horse is a 15.2 hands quarter horse, and the photo at the beginning with the bay horse is a 16hh standardbred. I think because the quarter horse is wider, and the standardbred is taller but thinner, they seem to fit ok with the adjustable cord on the saddle. hope that helps and all the best with making yours!!!
