I was just wondering, how would it work if you inserted the cut tabs on the visor part in between the head band before fully glueing it rather than on the inside of the band? Great video,s.

Love your tutorials on you beer box hats and visors! I have a question for yo on what you use to seal these hats?

Rustoleum Gloss Clear is what I use. It specifically says "Bonds to Plastic" on the can, which I believe helps in the application to these types of cardboard that have a slick coating on them already.

You did a great job explaining the details and I really appreciate it. Where and how are you able to get the boxes other than drink the contents? I know it is going to take me a lot of tries before I get it right and I can't see drinking that much beer.

Materials are available everywhere... Bars, golf courses, neighbors, friends all throw them out so it never hurts to just ask. And when you explain why.... They are usually more than happy to help save them for you. But anything is possible so don't limit yourself to drinks. I've made hats out of almost anything cardboard you can imagine. If you haven't seen my Facebook page Headstrong Hats, I invite you to check out some of my work there. Good luck!

Thanks. I did "like" your Facebook page yesterday. I have contacted all 8 convenience stores in my town (small town) but most of them sell drinks by the carton so the carton gets taken with the buyer but, I am still looking and hope to come across a few. I did get 2 six pack containers so I am hoping to make the visor. Can't wait! It looks fun!

Regular sewing machine ? With upholstery thread ? What stitch setting
@headstrong6523 Жыл бұрын
I have a Jenome HD 3000 but started with a regular cheapo Brother (Project Runway model). I've moved away from upholstery thread and am using machine embroidery thread from Hobby Lobby but I think any thread will suffice. Regular needle, nylon coatwd if you can find them with longest straight stitch setting, 3/4 on the tension and 2 1/2 on the presser foot pressure.

do I need a licensing from the company to do this?? or a permit
@headstrong65236 жыл бұрын
ben skipper I wouldn't think so unless you were to sell them and make a large profit. Then I bet someone would step in. But you're not duplicating a copyright, just reusing it. Just like the airplanes and things people make out of aluminum cans.

awesome!

yes, don't do this without getting express permission and an official permit from blue moon, or else the blue moon police will kick in your door and shoot your dog

I thought about it at one time but it just didn't seem worth the effort. Thanks for the compliment
