Great video and awesome project. Saw the bowl on the LIVE and you guys both seem very proud of it/them… as you should be. My first major tool purchase for my shop was a lathe, even before a table saw. The internet made me do it 😁 I think I am going to have to try this out… a very solid, minimalistic take on a bowl… very modern looking. I can see you trying some laminated wood in the future. It would be interesting to see what you could sell those for. A big thanks to Peter and John for sharing.

ive done it on the table saw but a little different , one less jig is needed, overall bad ass bowl brothers love that cherry color and great video
@FishOverChicksWoodworking17 сағат бұрын
Oh sweet! Good to know it can be done with less jigs. The less jigs we have cluttering the shop the better lol!
@BrandonCabanillas17 сағат бұрын
Wouldn't it be easier if you put runners on the circle jig so you wouldn't have to recenter the jig again on the table saw? I'm just thinking about making it easier and safer but truly appreciate your videos. I would love to try this

Great video. Will try this at the weekend. Thought I’d also buy some cutting board oil. I live in New Zealand. The oil was $17 and the shipping was $134. I didn’t order it 😂.

If you're not careful making a circle out of a square on the table saw you could get your hand spun into the blade...but if you feel comfortable doing it, have at it. Enjoy your vids!
@FishOverChicksWoodworking13 сағат бұрын
Well said! Keep those hand away from the blade and go slow!
@Lithanify12 сағат бұрын
Isnt putting lateral pressure on a spinning saw blade a really bad idea?
@walterallen40699 сағат бұрын
If the path of the long piece of wood is guided at an angle to the blade, you're making cove moulding. Gotta clamp 1x4 board(s) onto saw table to guide on either side of the board being milled, angled to put "shadow" of saw blade in waste profile of workpiece path, starting at no blade exposed then raising blade up 1/16-1/8 inch at a time after each pass. It's worth looking up. Pretty cool.
@spbeckman2 сағат бұрын
Yes, it is a terrible idea. Not good for the blade, spindle, or potentially the operator.

There's this machine called a lathe. If you can't afford one then maybe you shouldn't be making bowls at the expense of your fingers.
