Is that formula good for buss and control cables as well, for example my control cable is 32.25 finished length. with that formula i would be about 24 twist and would add a quarter inch (.29 actual) to my length for laying out? Thanks again! Finished my first string following your video. Its one of the best out there!

Yes will work for cables also.

When serving end loops using the tag end method I see that you don’t actually form the loop by using one of the tags over both bundles (as some string builders do). Is there a particular reason why you have found it beneficial to just use the final cam serving to finish the loop?

Great video. Sorry if I missed is anywhere, what kind of jig are you using and how much do they run? Seems to be a very well engineered

Hello, I have seen all the videos! Great technique! I have just a question.. How longer you measure the string before to give the twist? You said 64

Thanks for the great video, I recently purchased a set up from Baker archery do you feel there’s any benefit using their four post jig and serving the ends versus two post and doing the tag serving?

From the guy in the video: I use the 4 post and serve the end loops now. Most large companies serve the end loops. Vapor trail is an excellent string maker that still only uses tag ends. You just need to be careful not to pull the tag end too tight or you will get bumps in the string.

For string length just multiply final string length x 1.009 and you get the same number for layup

I made one for my compound bow which has about 100 lb draw, out of Plano catgut like you Stitch leather together with Twisted stretched and served it with two 1500 lb Jack straps between the post on my front porch. Shot it fifty times or so the bow is stronger than ever can hit a gnat in a plate of grits at a hundred yards with this b****... totally expected it to fly apart though
