Welcome back to my workshop 😁👍
In today's video i show you step by step how i make a bunk bed ladder.
This is made from some quite cheap materials, but the final outcome is great.
You can use the same principles to build any ladder or set of small steps.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Don't for get to hit the like and subscribe buttons (it helps me out a lot... and its free) and if you hit the bell notification you will be told very politely when i bring out my next fantastic video 😁.
Thanks for watching and ill see you in the next one 😁👍

Thank you Frank! This is exactly what I needed. We just bought a camper trailer (caravan) with bunkbeds so our grandkids have a place to sleep, but it did not come with a ladder. As usual KZbin did not disappoint and it introduced me to another entertaining craftsman. 😉 👍👍

@@frankslittleworkshop 2 days ago my 8 year old burst the rails that hold his mattress support! So I have cut 3 legs off his bed and extend his ladders and rebuilt the base for the mattress and bolted the bed to the wall ( mission ! ) but looks great floating bed almost apart from the ladders as I had to extend I had to add steps that was the only part that was a bit iffy .

Hi mate could you use 3x2. And instead of pocket holes what about screwing directly to the outside lengths into the foot boards ? . Obviously with big enough fixings and and filling at sanding the ? holes ?

Thanks Dirk 😁. I did enjoy this build but it was a worry that it wouldn't fit (especially when small children would be using it). As we all know youngsters will always find a way to injure themselves, we have to minimise the risk 😁. Looking forward to your challenge.... but still have no idea what to build 🤔. We will see 😁. Hi Leo 😁. Thank you very much, it's always nice to get some feedback (otherwise I have no idea if my videos "work" or not 😁). Screen in screen is the only way I can cram it all in as I always film too much and end up having to cut 2 hours of film in to about 20 minutes 🤔. Thanks for watching Leo 😁👍.

Frank can you imagine if you fell over with your body entangled in the ladder and the ambulance came🚑😂 they'd be like how in hell🤔😂. That ladder is a work of art mate I've never seen such detail be lavished upon such a simple thing as a ladder, every single detail and angle covered mate.

😂🤣😂 I didn't even think of that 😂🤣. That would be so funny.... for them 😁. The things we do for our craft 😂. It turned out better than I thought it would but more important... I know it's safe. But I'm sure they will find a way to make it dangerous... they are boys 😂🤣😂. Thanks for watching mate. All the best to you and yours 😁👍

They look pretty, but I don’t think they will be strong enough with only 4 pocket screws in the treads. I would have liked to have seen the treads keyed into the styles. Also grinding with the guard off and some flimsy safety glasses!? Not a good message to send out here. Plus you were trying to cut with a grinding disk not grind with a cutting disk. Apart from that, an enjoyable video thanks.
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😆 They lasted longer than the rest of the bunk beds apparently 😆, so it was more than strong enough 😁. I did the cutting with a cutting disc and a hacksaw... then cleaned up with the same cutting disc... which I shouldn't have but I only had the one disc... the safety glasses were sufficient for this application.... and thats all I had at the time. I was just showing how "I" made it... how my viewers do it is entirely up to them 😁.

It's rungs of a ladder, not runs. You'll find it easier to cut a recess if you use the bevelled edge of a chisel, turn the chisel over and use it that way!
