I also use 3 chain links chain to separate the hail Mary's from the Our Father, as well as the center and the crucifix. It makes the rosaries a little more flexible and it keeps them from breaking.

This looks lovely, but if the beader is making a Rosary that will be used for prayer, you need a few extras. Please add a figure 8 link before and after each decade. This is so that the person praying with them can feel where the decade ends and know that it's time to change the prayers. The same with the three beads on the tail where the Crucifix goes, next to the Crucifix and on all three sides of the centre medal. You can make them with the round nose pliers and you will need to make 14 of them per Rosary. You also need 4 jump rings - 3 on the centre medal and one on the Crucifix. If you don't have the jump rings, the Crucifix and medal will eventually open your wire loops.
@jobethvigil-price46653 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct! Otherwise, just dandy!

Wouldn’t the larger separator beads themselves serve as indicators of the end of each decade and prayer change? 🤔

I normally get the pure silver rods that already have one cats eye loop in the end. This way there’s less work and I only use true Swarovski crystals. So the pure silver really makes the crystals shine well and polishes really well when I clean the crystal rosary in the end with jewelry cleaner, and it keeps the person wearing it as a dedicated catholic from their neck and hands turning black. My rosaries are a bit expensive to make, but they last very well and are so beautiful that they sell fast. The only discoloring is the silver turns brownish if not cleaned, but most customers say they just leave the rosary in a jewelry cleaning dish at night and it comes out beautiful in the morning.

I was looking to see if I should solder my links and a tutorial on how to do that. Is that something you ever do to add strength to your links?
@Potomacbeadco9 ай бұрын
Soldering will close the ring completely and will prevent your other links from slipping through an opening in the link/ring. However if you use a heavier gauge metal like a 20 or less, you really shouldn't have that problem as long as the links are closed correctly. We currently do not have a video on soldering.

I think that the links around the bead should be one horisontal and the second vertical. That's how the other rosary makers do it and I do it, too. The exception to this is when you make the links to Our Father beads. The both links are to same direction. Thanks any way for this video. Good work.

Awesome video, how long does it take on average to make one ?
@Potomacbeadco9 жыл бұрын
William Neigum It probably just depends upon a person's experience and speed. Allie can probably do it in about 15-20 minutes. A new beader should take 1-1.5 hours probably, and get faster on each subsequent piece.

I am going to make a rosary for my boyfriend so this was very straight forward for me since I'm a beginner. I wonder though, would it be in my best interest to wrap the wire instead of using chain link? I watched your video on wire wrapping so i was considering doing that. What will be stronger?
@Potomacbeadco10 жыл бұрын
It really depends upon the gauge of wire you are using. If you are using anything thinner than 20 gauge (22 for example), you would definitely want to wrap. It takes longer, but at least that will not accidentally stretch or pull the loop.

I want to make a ladder rosary with 6mm Cork Red Marble beads & 20 gauge stainless wire. What size and type of chain should I use?
@Potomacbeadco10 жыл бұрын
Well if you want to make it like this one, you do not need any chain, since the loops you will be making with your wire are what you would be connecting.
@sheilat980410 жыл бұрын
I want to wire each bead as instructed in video. However, two lengths of chain are attached to each side of the beads. I need to purchase the correct gauge chain to accomplish this. If you are uncertain as to what a ladder rosary is; please go to eBay and look up ladder rosary for some examples.
