The first of two quick demo videos on how to put together an Eskrima training dummy using a couple of old tyres and a fence post. Bit of hard work involved but a lots less expensive than similar items you can buy and a lot easier to move than a stack of tyres.

This is the best rubber tire dummy ever!!! Looks like a Samurai in the front. I layered those crescent tire pieces front and back. Great workout dummy!!! Very impressive training tool.

I prefer cutting tires with a knife and hacksaw also. 👍 Using an angle grinder is only slightly quicker, but way gnarlier. (that smell is wretched) Nice build!

Great idea for an E-K-A dummy. With the tools that I have, I think that I'll stick with 2 tires strapped onto a tree in my back yard.

Thank you for posting this! I was originally looking to build a tire tower to do some strength training with my sticks, but I came across this and it seems like it would fit better in my small space. However, I noticed that it tilts on impact, due to perhaps being more top heavy? How does it compare to a tire tower?

Hi, in one of the other videos I have a spring mounted stick for Eskrima training but I haven't added arms myself. If you check out the JG El Diablo training dummies Facebook page you'll see some examples of arms that other people have come up with. Cheers J

Do you recommend this for open blade training? Will this damage the blade?
@jasonarnold5987
@jasonarnold5987 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. A tire dummy will withstand a live blade better than most other surfaces but I probably wouldn't recommend using your favorite knife.

What’s the sound like when you strike the target? Is it loud? I strike whole tires in my backyard but it makes a loud hollow sound that I think would disturb my neighbors. This looks like it might be quieter.

It's definitely quieter than hitting whole tires. But it still makes a tapping sound. I think you can hear me striking the dummy on one of my videos.

what are the measures of the tire please
@jasonarnold5987
@jasonarnold5987 3 жыл бұрын
The cut measurement or the actual tire size. Normal car or light truck tires are fine 4wd tires are too hard to deal with. The cut length measurements are on the El Diablo Facebook page. Cheers J

What is the size of the tire? Excellent!
@jasonarnold5987

I normally try and use standard car tires for the head, shoulders and chest and four wheel drive tires for the body. But any tire will do really.
