When you do cover flashings let’s just say on a chimney…so when I cut step flashings the step that bends around from the side of the chimney to the front always goes around and follows the chase into the wall. But when I do cover flashing that isn’t stepped so maybe on an old stone chimney I fold the lead around the corner and always goes at a 45is degree angle. Don’t know how to make it fold into a chase? Does this make sense lol. What’s your advice.

You would need wider lead to achieve that corner. I use 240mm basically cut down to 150mm apart from the corner. If that makes sense. Or You could weld a bit on.

Never thought to do the wrap around first, thanks! Mate, you're confusing layboard with the gutter sole, the layboard lays on the rafter

That’s just helped me with something that has always been a pain I was making one up last night and that little triangle on the upstand is always been a pain trying to position it to weld it in that makes it so much easier

I myself am just starting out I’ve worked with an old school lead roofer who bossed everything and now retired. So I’m looking at picking up the torch so to speak any advice on set ups would be greatly appreciated I’m thinking propylene as it’s easier for me to get

Hi mate We were taught that when you measure the pitch of roof is works the down stand out for you that’s the way we have always done it I noticed you didn’t use any pitch measurement on yours ?
