Another awesome tutorial! It is great that you share your mistakes and frustrations with projects so others know that you are not perfect so they shouldn’t expect perfection from themselves either!

I love the look of these and that they don’t have a baggy lining. But, I do get very frustrating with machine sewing down the other side of the binding. So, I tend to hand sew the binding down on the other side. - yes, it takes longer. The other way I do it is to sew the binding down on the back first then machine sew it to the front - I have more control over the seam on the edge and the sew line is on the back if there are any flubs 😆. Love the look of these - thank you for the tutorial!

Love the colors you chose for this! The binding adds a lot to it.
@CindyOgilvieАй бұрын
Ha! Thanks for being real about learning how to machine bind! I finally did it on a small quilt rather than hand bind from the back. It really wasn't that hard, and I know now I can handle a bigger project.
@TheNakedEweАй бұрын
I love both stocking patterns! For the binding, when I sew the back of the binding down, I pin it all the way around and then sew it from the front by stitching in the ditch of the front binding. Just a suggestion

Ohhhh I love the striped binding!! Love both versions, but I think I prefer the lining technique from yesterday because it's easier to keep the inside cleaner; but the binding just really makes such good detail!

I have 16 of these cut out for my grandchildren. I do them assembly line. When I went to do the binding I just couldn’t get it to go around the curves neatly. I did use bias binding (always do!) but you made it look so easy. Any tips?
@jessica_dayonАй бұрын
When I'm binding these, I make sure that I'm not pulling tight on the binding. I just lay it down and work around like that without tension because tension would make the stocking curl up after you were finished. If you have a hard time, try using wonder clips or pins to hold the binding into place before you start sewing. Then, remove the clips/pins as you go.
@DebbieHiggins-b7xАй бұрын
@ I will try it! Thank you 😊

I'm not using fabric from all on collection, if that's what you meant. These are aquas from my scraps and bunch of different collections that I've saved over the years.
