Hi Vinnie, Thank you for the video. I really like the simplicity of this jig. I have the same Craftsman 10 inch band saw as yours, so as a newbie woodworker, I've been following all of your band saw projects and I really enjoy them. So please keep them coming 🙏. Thanks again.

Only now i saw this awesome circle cutting jig video. About two weeks ago I made myself a circle cutting jig following the instructions of another video. Basically those videos are the same. But yours has some clever "extras". Thanks for sharing.

hey, nice work ! and a small tipp for this jig : you should screw the stop-block under the plate in front of the saw instead clamping it behind it, then u have always the same distance without measuring it !! (hope u understand what i mean) sry about my bad english, im from Germany. Greetings !!

made same jig but used a push pin instead, it fits nicely into 5/16 hole after light sending. push pins are cheap and easy to replace

I really like your idea for the tack glides! The only thing is I see the stop block being a problem when you start to make bigger circles because it is thicker then the plywood top of the jig. I recommend putting a stop block on the under side of the plywood that hangs of the bed closet to you. hope I could be of some help and keep up the great work!
@Makify18 жыл бұрын
+Josh Millar That's a good point. I thought about a stop block on the front of the jig but eventually decided that a stop block clamped to the back of the table would be easier/better for me. A stop block on the front of the jig might be better for someone else though.

Makify1 that's very true! If your not making anything bigger then a couple inches your way works great too!

Very similar to the one that I use but much more simple.I would only change your stop blpck to the underside of the jig in front so you always have an auto stop in place. Sometimes we older shop hounds over think our projects. I don't really need large circles. I only need small circles. Thanks .

I made this but having a slight issue. Every circle has a slight flat edge which has to be at the starting point. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
@Makify17 жыл бұрын
Greg Jones Is the leading edge of the blade perfectly aligned with the center of the circle when you cut?

USE A WIDE BLADE WITH FINE TEETH... I went through (BROKE) 4 blades cutting 8 circles of plywood 92 more to go. I did this before I figured out the wider fine tooth blade was the best choice. And I only used the fine tooth blade because it was my last choice. I cut 42 circles with the fine blade till I ran out of wood.

I strongly suggest you google Hyezmar's Woodworking book (no cost), if you're experienced. He's got an alternative for newbies as well.
