In this video, I will show you how to make a consistent comic book character that you can put into different environments, scenes and poses.
Using a combination of a reference photo and a seed this is easily achieved and comic book pages can be made in minutes.

My god... I wasn't trying to build a comic book, but I wanted to use a repeating set of characters. Not only did you just change my midjourney Journey by showing me how how to move midjourney bot to my own server (Sips tea... ahh... that's better), but this tutorial gave me everything else I needed. Legendary video. I've been running through tons of videos for 3 days now (On 2X speed) trying to figure this out. Sending seed to myself is also a game changer. GG OP

Yes, I also am looking to be able to pose a character differently so that I can create different puppets of the same character (in my case werewolves as well as humans) which I can animate in Adobe Character Animator. So far, this seems to be helping me get there.

Canva is a lifesaver. The best thing to witness lately, is finally discovering new stories and new visuals from writers/dreamers who did not develop the skills to bring their ideas to life, now anyone can just tell a story through different perspectives. I believe at some point (hopefully soon) we'll be able to produce full movies from home and via a smartphone.

8:42 Yes, this doesn't make us the artist. We're the creative director, collaborating with the AI, which is emulating the work of real artists.

She’s still the artist. The AI is a tool.
@NelsonStJames
@NelsonStJames Жыл бұрын
Some of us just want to read good comics made by people who have an interesting story to tell. Any technology that allows those stories to get told is fantastic. If an "artist" (in the sense that you are using the term) is making a good product, then they need never fear any technology, because there will always be an audience for them. The hacks, on the other hand, are running scared right now because people who have original ideas but maybe didn't possess the skills can now put their visions out there in the marketplace for people to choose.
@ArtOfMasquerade

@@rilus In this case, the artist working on the instructions of the customer is also just a tool. And a real artist is a customer.
@julimibz
@julimibz Жыл бұрын
@@rilus She's the client, the AI is the "true artist" that made the images. When you commission an artist for a comic, you have to tell them what you want in the panels, what the characters look like, give examples with what is close to your vision and they will create it as close as possible, exactly what the AI is doing. You get copyright for the story while the artist gets copyright for the art.
@mikeduke57

I've used the idea of a cover artist and author to describe the relationship of AI and AI user / creator. I'm a scifi / thriller / horror author and I come up with very specific ideas for the cover art for my books. I pick a cover artist and describe in words exactly how I want the cover to look. Sometimes I'll even provide them with a short excerpt from the book for additional written words that provides context and visualization. The cover artist then attempts to produce a cover that fits the bill. Usually there will be some back and forth asking them to tweak some things, add or subtract, etc. or even try again from scratch with additional written details to shape the final product. A reroll or remix so to say. The end product is the physical creation of the artist but it is also creation of my mind. The design and ideas present in the cover are from me primarily, not the cover artist. I was the muse directing his or her hand which formed my vision into something tangible and visible. Without my input, the final product would never have existed. It is my creative design and vision brought to life through the artistic work of another. It is a collaborative process and both parties are key in the creation of the final product.

Nice work on this, some helpful tips in here! Let me offer a quick tip, instead of ctrl+v to paste, try the windows button+v This brings up your copy history and you can use the arrows keys to step up and down and then just hit enter to paste. With this little trick you can copy two things in a row and then easily paste one and then the other since they're all stored in the clipboard history.

thanks for this. I was wondering about that personal server set up. discord says anyone can see it and that it is not technically private but how easily can/would people go about accessing it? are the images you generate in your personal server showing up on a community feed somewhere? (I'm still on trial)
@promptmuse
@promptmuse Жыл бұрын
Hey, Yes you can make your images private by enabling the private subscription add on ($20 a month) This will allow you to control the privacy of your images via the community feed. However, the images will be uploaded up to servers can be viewed publicly by anyone with the image URL. So to answer your question. No, they are not 100% completely private if someone knew where to look on the discord server. They are only private on the Midjourney community feed on midjourney.com/. I hope that helps 👍 great question btw
