So I've been sitting on this template for a couple of years and I've attempted to paint it a couple of times in different ways and failed, so I never released it outside of patreon. I finally worked it out, so this is a big win for me, I hope you enjoy it!

stuff like this is one of the biggest reasons you are probably my favorite creator in the crafting community. you always have something to teach the viewer, whether it's a painting technique, useful tips about crafting materials, or just something philosophical about life. your posts are fairly inconsistent (which I'm sure plenty of people have bitched about) and that honestly just shows that you make these videos because you genuinely enjoy it. 100k subs is literally just around the corner bro. every video is so special, but you are one of the best. no drawn out 20 minute videos unless it's absolutely needed, straight to the point with it all and the templates... don't get me started. others who just throw up some dimensions for 2 seconds and not even all of the dimensions, you put the effort in and it's proving very successful for you. see you at 200k and beyond.

This is a great tutorial! I am in the middle of making a fire themed version of this. Do you think you could achieve a look of even more volume if you painted a base layer, say of yellows, then a layer of glaze, then a layer of a few brush strokes of oranges, then again with glaze and then a final layer of reds. It would then be finished with a few layers of glaze. I am hoping to give it the illusion that some of the detail is towards the middle of the crystal. Thank you and keep up the great work!

any tips on hardensing structures like that? attempted to spread superglue on a box similar so what you did but it dried so fast it looked a mess
@Miscast4 жыл бұрын
This is just the cheapest most adverage superglue I could get. I put on lots at a time and spread it. My work environment isn't particularly hot either. I'm using the coated smooth side of the cardboard which stops the glue from absorbing into the cardboard. That's the only things I can think that could effect drying time.

Yeah, I typically set up a little wind tunnel with the blow dryer. The glaze medium layers still take a very long time to dry unfortunately, they remain tacky for a long time and if you don't let them 100% cure they'll mess with the clear coat
