How to Make a Delicious Portuguese Style Tuna Salad - Salada de Atum - Amazing Quick Lunch or Dinner

Today's recipe for a Portuguese style tuna salad platter is the perfect summer lunch or dinner. This recipe is inspired by the famous Portuguese Codfish dish Bacalhau Gomes de Sa, but made with canned tuna, potatoes, chick peas, peas or green beans and smothered in an onion, garlic, olive oil and tomato saute.
Give this a try if you love tuna, and if you want a quick meal that will have you craving the leftovers for the next day!

Hi Nidia! I love the smell of cooking onions and garlic! That is a version I am going to have to try when my son comes next weekend with his family! I have made the tuna style with frozen hashbrowns when my kids were all in sports after school. I would get home from work and need to make a quick meal. They all loved it. I would mix everything in the big casserole with garlic, onions and olive oil, pimenta, and bake it on high until the hashbrowns were golden brown! It was also a cheap meal compared to the salted Atlantic Cod but so delicious! I will let you know what the family says about this recipe. I have all I need in the house to make it! So glad I watched this! Your mom is blessed to have a good daughter like you! I always did the same for my late dad. They appreciate it! Big hugs

Onions and garlic sauteed together are the food of God! lol! This tuna salad is quick and delicious, love the tang of the vinegar. You know, even though it was a staple in our house growing up, I have never been a fan of the salted cod. Well, except for the friend codfish cakes, lol! I think you can take any salted cold cod recipe and substitute tuna, and it taste just fine! Funny you say thaat about me taking care of my Mom, but just today I baked a tuna noodle casserole for our dinner, and made on for my Mom. She lives just down the street from me and my sister (yes, we all built new homes in a new development about 5 years ago, but it makes everything so easy to be so close to family. Mom is going to be 82 in June, and lives alone now that my Dad has been in a nursing home for a few years. We do what we can, right? I wish I had time to do more, hopefully after I retire she will still be healthy and adventurous enough to travel with us!
