I used floral wire. Much easier to push through the stitches.

Absolutely Earthgal. Just make sure the gauge is thick enough due to the weight.

Some people actually take a screw and screw it into the ball itself and then wire it in that way. I was hoping to find a less intrusive way just in case they needed a baseball, they would have 3 perfectly ready to use Earthgal HippieChick.
