As someone with ZERO diy experience, this looks simple, sturdy, and most importantly REALISTIC in terms of recreation. I'm very excited to attempt my own.

I'm so glad to hear that! I think anything is simple when you break it down step by step. I tend to just give things and go and hope to show others that it doesnt have to be complicated haha and if I make it complicated you see my mistakes along the way :) Joe

Thank you! I like it! The only thing I will do differently is put the closing latch on the side, so my arm doesn't hit the poking up thing on the right side of my tabletop. Thank you very much for this!

I just built this desk using the same hinges. However, there is a 10mm gap at the hinge when the desk is open flat. This causes some play and movement when weight is put on the desktop. Does your desk have the same slight movement? If not, how did you make it not move when weight is applied?

Joe, what type of chain did you use and I can kind of see you fix these with screws only? I tried struts and it was a massive fail - the box wouldn't stay closed lol! Complete opposite to yours, think I may have chosen too high of a pressure (120N).
@WatchShareSave3 жыл бұрын
I had the same issues with the struts mate. They just didn’t seem to work for me. I added a latch on the one corner to keep it closed. The chain I used was the 2mm chain from B&Q. The screw heads where bigger than the gap between each link so it held it great. Hope that helps mate 🙂 Joe
