Do you have a qulit design wall? Did you make it yourself or did you buy one? I'd love to know how both types are working for folk!

I just rescued a piece of that super sturdy corrugated cardboard you have from a new TV and I’m going to do exactly what you did thank you!

Fab! So glad you liked it! Hope it works for you! I’m still loving mine!

I used felt left over from an other project. So far it has worked. If I had to buy the fabric for the wall felt was too expensive. I’ll use your idea when I enlarged the wall. Thanks for the help.

Felt sounds like a good idea. Mine is still going strong but I do wish I had more space to make it bigger!

I used flannel that was given to me sewed it together to fit my smallest wall and then nailed it to my wall lol it works but once you start seeing rows together and the quilt gets heavier I use pins I even sandwich on my wall absolutely love it. Now I'm debating on moving it to a bigger wall

I wish I had a whole wall to use! Feeling like mine is a bit small now! Good for blocks though.

I spaced 11 Command hooks at the top of my wall and hung a white queen size flat flannel sheet with binder clips that hang from the hooks.

Sounds much easier 😂

I did something similar with a cheap flannel backed tablecloth I purchased at the dollar store. It works great.

I have a flannel backed table cloth that I have used for years...I dont have to pin or anything, except when I have something so big it hangs over the edge.

I’ve heard about these fabulous table cloths! Never seen one here though!

Thanks for all these great ideas. I honestly need a design wall, but do not have room. I really like cardboard and then I can move it. Always an inspiration. Looks really good, too!

Aw thanks- glad it got you thinking. I’m loving mine even if it isn’t as big as some people’s!

I'm in the process of making a small one. Since I've moved my craft space is sequestered to the smallest bedroom 🤪. I would send you some flannel Kristen....just let me know.

Ha ha! Thanks for the offer but I think I’m good. The flannelette seems to be working!

Akso, my daughter just has a big piece of flannel. I think she just has pushpins along the top edge . I meant to tell you with my flannel backed tablecloth, I sewed ties to the top edge in 3 places and used thos 3M hangers.

Fab! Great idea for hanging.

If you have to do this again, my suggestion is: attach the velcro to back of your board, then attach it to each other, then take off the sticky bit, THEN attach it to the wall! (With a spirit level and a helper!) That way you don't have to worry about making the board stick to the right bit of the wall! :)
@ScrapFabricLove3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you have to leave the Velcro on the wall for 15 minutes before you can put anything on it! Otherwise yes that way would have been way easier!!
@Old_Scot3 жыл бұрын
@@ScrapFabricLove I didn't realise that! You have inspired me to try to make a design wall. I might just attach flannel to a wall, though!

Ha ha! Yes I did maybe make it difficult for myself but I like the padded look of it. Good luck with yours!

This is a great video. Thank you for showing us your process. One question, couldn't you use the command strips meant for hanging framed pictures? These Command strips also have a velcro connection between the wall and the item you are hanging, but the bit where they attach to the wall, can be removed without leaving a mark when you remove them.
@ScrapFabricLove2 жыл бұрын
Maybe - I’ve not seen those! The only thing I can think of is it might move a bit in the way that a picture could move on a hook - but if you used enough I’m sure you could make it work!
