Cedar fence planks are an under appreciated material :-). Though for sanding I would highly recommend wearing a dust mask if you already don't, as cedar can be much more irritating than other common woods.

I would love to see you figure out a light box idea for that other shop light, as thats the one i have and i am unfortunately short, and eye level with it.

Do you mean The other light that gets hot? I’ve been wondering if lining the inside of the wooden box with a reflective material would help, and instead of using a wooden board running lengthwise along the top, use another material bridging the sides together in 2 or 3 places which would leave the top more open allowing heat to escape better, if any of that makes any sense.
