quick tip about scoring with the hobby knife - turn it over and use the non-sharp side! it allows you to not have to be quite as careful and you get a good score line!

You should be hiding stuff behind it lol. Like stats, notes, remaining hp, and even some dice rolls for suspense

That's personal preference. I know a lot of GMs that prefer an open table. In fact, some games recommend it.
